When you download a FBX, it's converted to ASCIIFBX, so it's mostly broken. They probably reverse engineered that, but still can't figure out the rest

So i was reading some of the stuff people are saying about the Vive Cosmos vs the Rift S. The problem i have with the Rift S is that its IPD doesnt fit me at all, digital adjustment kind of works but its still a little screwy and hurts my eyes over time.

Much like the Rift S is the budget next (half)gen headset Oculus is shoving out there, the Cosmos is still very expensive. However my IPD was the max on the Rift CV1 and even then was ever so slightly screwy.

I do not personally recommend buying a cosmos if the rift S works for you, BUT in my case it doesn't seem like i have much of a choice between that and getting second hand vive (which i just dont want because I'm used to my Rift CV1 which is slowly breaking down)

So i thought i would throw that out there as to why some people may purchase a cosmos if they have the money.

@quiet mica The key to oversized avatars is to allow culling it the parts don't matter. For example my avatar would be very poor due to the length of my tail, but it's not really an issue if my avatar is culled entirely if just the end of the tail is shown, so I modify the bounding box to not include say, the last 1/3rd of the tail. That brings the rating back up and allows clients to cull my avatar if it's not really in view.

You presumably need to play the game in a normal manner with your VRChat account, walking around, meeting people and also making some friends. Idling won't help.
According to many responses in this discord, a rough estimate would be 20-40 hours, but big exceptions are possible.

Make sure you are not using a steam or oculus account because those can not be verified and continue playing the game until you get a notification or e-mail.

If you consistently get below 70fps in VR, chances are you'll feel weird and it won't be fun. Not to mention driving VR is a LOT more intensive than normal desktop. Basically a better way to compare it is "can you run games at 4k somewhat passably"?

Well they're not interchangeable so it would have just been a completely different laptop. I have a friend in the same boat, they were sold a "gaming laptop" for Skyrim a few years ago. It has no dedicated GPU and the onboard iGPU is a HD 505 which is literally the worst integrated GPU of that generation.

Being able to load the game, and being able to play it at an acceptable framerate at decent settings are two very different things.

Some example framerates from that GPU: Destiny 2 720p: 12.6fps, Assassins Creed Origins 720p: 8fps, NFS: Paybacl 1080p: 8.7fps, FFXV Low 720p: 8.9fps, etc, etc.
