My inner roleplay person tells me that anything that isn't the same species as myself is less trustworthy than a person who is the same species as me (usually human). Because the quest runs on Android, it's an incompatible format. You can have a cube for PC and it won't work on quest. You need to upload it to the quest build
You can actually upload an avatar that is PC specs to the quest, but it will be blocked by default. You can manually show it though

The reason quest avatars aren't shown is more due to people not making a quest upload of their avatar

As far as "just uploading the PC version" goes - not entirely true, as it can't use PC shaders (read any shaders other than basic mobile ones), or dynamic bones, or rigid bodies, etc. As far as forcing high poly models, It almost certainly will cause lag, the Quest seems to struggle with a handful of high performing avatars, nevermind anything else.
It also doesn't support texture transparency which is a massive pain in the ass to work around.

Spent a few hours in Neos and now making avatars in-game is my new favorite thing. That and the menus/locomotion.
Wish VRC could have some of those things. Just drag and drop anything into the window then get to work in-game surrounded by helpful creators.

I just think Neos would have a better base. If every limit regarding avatars and worlds is already built in and expanded upon over time instead of the reverse, then abuse is so much less likely.
