Rift S isn't terrible. It is the best entry level headset. Especially if its your first foray into VR. And the touch controllers are some of the best vr controllers on the market for reliability and ease of use.

- Everytime I start it up I have to walk around my room till it finds my configurated playspace again which takes up some time. I sometimes have to completely start over because It cant find it.
- the controller tracking is really bad. When I put them on the floor and stand up they just float in the air because They cant be seen by the cameras and Its not very precise either. If I have them infront of me (with steady hands) they still move around a bit too much.

How do I "set it up properly" then? I do what the instructions tell me to do, I sometimes have to put them on the floor (not often tho) and I dont have any headphones to plug into the headset so I have to use my USB Gaming Headset which is an extra cable

To set it up properly you have a well lit room, and give it an anchor point (something the cameras recognise) when you set it up point it at this location, then when putting it on each time point it at the anchor and it picks it up, my anchor for instance is the corner of my room above my monitor, because i often wear it while sitting infront of my monitor with the visor flipped up.

There's definitely some drawbacks. Personally I prefer wmr over vive after using them both. The resolution is the winner for me. But yeah, some of that isn't proper behavior, but I also have friends who were very happy going to Vive from wmr, and visa versa. So it's individual really. Nobody can really tell you what's better for you

Sweetspot seems to be a confusing term. What some like to say is sweetspot, and eyebox.
Sweetspot being the position the lenses need to be lined up with your eyes to be clear, and the eyebox being how clear the image is from the center, to the edges.
Wmr has a small sweetspot, and probably lowest eyebox
The Vive has a small sweetspot, and a medium eyebox.
Rift has a larger sweetspot, and larger eyebox
Rift S has a very large sweetspot, and very large eyebox
Index from what I hear, has a small sweetspot, but a very large eyebox that is clear to the edge of the lenses

In the end I got the quest just to develop and test content for it but it felt like 400 usd I should put toward an index instead so I ended up not keeping it but I’m sure it will work great for others. Tracking is exceptional and taking it anywhere is hard to get used to.

It can but there’s a good bit of latency in quest pcvr. Depending on how sensitive you are to visual latency it may work fine or make you sick but it’s not ignorable

Yeah, that's why I usually say to save for an index rather than buying a new Vive now with the intent to upgrade to the index. You'll save yourself.
But if someone already has a Vive they've been using and wanting to upgrade, it is cheap to upgrade partially rather than buy the whole package on top of the vive
The lighthouse are what's worth the money now for resale. Vive headsets are becoming cheap because so many people try to sell the headset separate and keep the lighthouse for the index

So I now have an VR headset (Oculus Rift). I tried it out for a few minutes, and i noticed everything is blurry (until I get really close) and I have weird shuttering at the end of the frame (at the sides of it). Is that because my CPU is too weak (I am 1 below the minimal specs) ? Is it maybe a faulty HDMI connection ? Is it because I didn’t wear my glasses while wearing my headset ? A faulty USB3 connection? Can I even run VRChat ?

VR is weird to get used to.
When you wear your glasses, majority should be in focus, but when you bring something close to your eyes in VR, your eyes will automatically try to focus closer, but the actual focal distance doesn't change in the VR headset. This makes close up things blurry until you get used to it and your eyes adjust

I had the focus problem with Oculus Dev Kit 2, but I’ve never had focus problems with CV1
It just looks like a hologram, full stop. No depth weirdness
I focus on things close up as if they are really close up
I do have a very very slight astigmatism that I do wear glasses for but it’s so slight that with vr I just don’t bother wearing them. Perhaps that actually helps me more than it hurts

another feature that I've heard people talk about is the option to change the privacy settings on your homeworld
so instead of it always being private, you can set it up in the settings for it to be friends+ or a new public instance as soon as you log on.

I wrote a few games in a visual programming language we were building at my last job and I basically recreated a gameboy pokemon game in it. Was very powerful. Issue was organising the code in a readable manner.
It was so visually cluttered and hard to read once you make something relatively more complex than some small demo.

just get some prescription lenses
you can buy them online, or buy glasses that are small enough, however unless you get plastic lenses on the glasses it will scratch your headset lenses.

I once had all 16 slots full and I wanted to favourite another avatar, but then I unfavorited the avatars that I dont really need. So now I only have about 8
I actually dont need them anyways because i do my own avatars but I still favorite some
