i was under the impression i need to be screen capping everytime and requesting vrchat doesn't count these false kicks against my or my friends accounts

if its just an inconvenience and doesn't actually report i suppose i can just ignore them and restart everytime

@signal thunder As far as I know, when a regular vrchat client receives a "you're kicked" signal, it just assumes it came from a valid source because under normal circumstances it should only be able to come from valid sources.

Some time ago people were getting fake banned because of this, since their regular vrc client was getting a "you're banned, do the banned dance" signal and then their client assumes it's valid and exits the instance and shows a ban message, but since nothing happened on the server side they could just restart their client and carry on with no problems.

You can check steamcharts and decide for yourself if the game is dying. It's had a pretty consistent/slightly growing number of players since the 2018 January spike. imo it's doing fine in that regard

Play a bit more. It takes a different amount of time for everyone, but exploring worlds, meeting new people and just being active in game will move you up the ranks. Some get it as low as 4 hours in, other 40 hours. Just be yourself and it will come

@median nest you can make "fake" bones which are bones that exist in the armature but have nothing weight painted to them, and then you can either animate the legs or you can do some stuff with fixed joints to have parts of your legs move with your hands or legs move with each other. In the past you could override the walking animation but I think those are broken in vrchat

nVIDIA with optimus will make matters worse, your GPU will be dialed back due to it not being able to provide enough juice to output to your display and thus will cause serious performance issues especially with framerate. You're better off testing a headset off a friend with your laptop to see if it can run without it choking to death before making the purchase, in the end I would rather you spent your money on a new system that is VR Ready rather than spending it on VR only to get disappointed.

We've already had some folks here who thought the higher the numbers on their card models the better, and they ended up refunding the headset or worse even, NOT being able to refund when they found out the hard way.

The gist of it is; if the VR benchmark gave you a warning, consider taking that warning a little seriously.
