IMO VRC isn't quite living up to its potential because too much focus is put on the long term and short term issues are ignored. But again, that's personal opinion and the game isn't "dying". VR is in its infancy and this game is helping many people get into VR.

Gmod is even further from what makes most of Vrchat good and why people stayed.

No reason Rift S and body trackers wouldn’t work, steamVR supports both devices in the same playspace with no actual hacks. The only software needed is input emulator to shift the two playspace to align, or the more complex spacecalibrator to do so automatcially
