Rec Room is more of an actual game but as a result there's very little customization
It's also not really as much of a social platform

there's a lot of customization, the only thing you can't really customize as much are your avatars, and it really is a social platform, they have some great rooms to chil in and some people just go on to those "hangout" rooms to hangout with 30 plus people
you really have to play both games to see how they compare, I love vrchat, but rec room is much more polished with competitive and skill games that are the most fun experience I've had in vr, vrchat is more for the memes and player customization, which i dont really care much for either

Xev's can be done in around 15-20 minutes I believe, it'll be updated alot over time with new content
mine doesn't have to be completed in on playthrough, some people sometimes visit and pick a quest and then return on another day to try other ones

What A Legend is another world I worked on, in case you never got round to try that one out (probably 40 mins to an hour and a half of playtime i think)

You can some what get video working when installing some separate codecs but unfortunately no audio, and it likes to crash 50% of the times it initialises the player with a originally not supported source. (stream)

Just a warning, you can't upload a custom avatar until you've been allowed to by the game. You'll get a notice ingame as well as the email you signed up with when you're able to. There's no set time so you just gotta play til it happens, basically.

Avatars stealing/copying? Yes it can.
Crashing/loging out? Yes they can.
Banning? Big no, they can only Fake it.
Taking accounts or anything like that? No, not even close.
Taking ip's? Blame steam networking. Sadly plenty of games have this.

From a world dev perspective
Some things shouldn't be interpolated, such as instant teleports. The interpolation makes it likely that an object could pass through another trigger and activate something it shouldn't.

I'd envision it becoming an option, with wireless as standard and a port to connect a cable. But that would depend on the true production price and size/weight of the wireless tech.
