A small side advantage of the lighthouse tracking method, is that each sensor divot (on the controllers and headset) has it's own ID and co-ordinates.

And there's no limit to how many can be paired with a base station.
Whilst the Oculus constellation tracking needs a few more to be visible to determine the actual orientation of the tracked object.

I've currently got my Steam home room set out with virtual furniture matching the locations of my real furniture.
It's a little janky due to the very limited support for it Steam home currently has, but does work quite nicely.
I can walk around my virtual bedroom, put my controller on the exact corner of my virtual desk, and have it sitting correctly on the real desk.

If anyone wants to try mirroring their real room in Steam VR, be warned that it's a finicky process, and also requires consistent sensor/lighthouse mountings, or else the playspace will drift away from being accurate to it.

I have oculus and I paid an extra $560 for vive full body. Worth it to me. But it depends on how into vr you are and how important it is for you to be fully immersed. Also I don’t recommend it if you don’t know how to mod avies in blender and unity you really need to tweek the proportions to yourself to get the most out of full body

Yeah there is a few stances that give away what headset someone using. Standing soldier at attention with hand wobble? Vive and they are tired of holding the controllers. Begging cat pose? WMR. Hands out in front like you are holding a box? Oculus in sitting mode

There are tons of great videos but it's super easy. Download the VRC SDK. Get a rigged model (or rig it using Mixamo.com), and then apply a VRC Avatar Descriptor to it in Unity3D.

Basically any 3D model that can be imported into unity can be used in VRChat. Models and animations (which can have audio) only. No custom scripts / executable code.
By default an avatar will look exactly like it does in unity. If it’s skinned and is bound to unity’s humanoid character definition, you can also use it in vr to control its arms/head/feet etc
Most people use blender to make the avatars from scratch or kitbash custom models together, the export as fbx and being that into unity to set it up as a humanoid unity character and use VRChat’s unity SDK (basically a unity plugin) to upload it to their account

Yeah there are a few white listed scripts like dynamic bones and finalIK, it actually doesn’t use your code but will replace them with their internal copies of the scripts
