( as for writing, we have avatars with snail pens which let you draw with your hand. I think it's a very VR-y way to do text chat and quite fun when used properly ). It's a bit of a shame you don't get such control for desktop but you could make an avatar with a pen attached to the neck (or head, accounting for scaling issues) and have it work

I watched a good video about multi-threading percentage of performance gain for certain workloads. For games and ray-tracing which can be massively parallel it's not even 100% and video cards might reach the point soon where we get no benefit from more cores.
(At least for current workloads. I assume resolution will come into play there soon.)

The big problem with multi-threading a workload is that you need to actually be able to break up the task and do it in parallel. It's a whole different way of thinking about problems. Also you have to ensure data gets to the places it needs to be in the right amount of time or cores will just... have... to wait... for it.

Put it into Blender, use CATS to merge the hat to the avatar, use the arrow keys to position it right. You might need to scale it too (press S then x,y or z depending on the axis you want to scale on)
You'll need to weightpaint it, but just make it all 100%. In weightpaint mode you press the head bone and then paint the hat entirely red.
Export. You've now saved 50$

Oh I though the dynamic bone collider went on the same thing as the dynamic bone but it needs to go on other things you want it to collide with. Makes sense.
Hmm, doesn't seem to work still. 😐
Put the colliders on the hands and dynamic bone hair. No effect.
