there was some streamer orbiter coming in here trying to report someone for "hacking" a streamer's ingame account and my first thought was multiboxing since the last thing I'd do with a (fairly popular) streamer's login info is fuck with his game.

I also wonder if the social and world page update lag issues that have been happening might also impact the instance type fields. Maybe they created a new instance as well, but the creation didn't fully propagate by the time they both joined?

This is actually a new user with the way they're acting.

one possibility: You both pick random instance ID #12345, which is currently unused. The other person connects first, creating it as a public instance. Then you connect, and since it's public you can join; your client is asking to create it as friends+, but the server ignores that as the instance is already up.

This could be tested by constructing join links
