The local game is solid so if you can actually play it IRL with others on your couch it might be worth considering

I’m getting extremely frustrated by how this game keeps forgetting that my right controller ain’t my left hand. Every damned time the game crashes, which it does frequently with this damned cloth problem or when it stops loading worlds for me, it forgets my left controller and I have to restart steam, which doesn’t always work. Ive had to restart Steam 5 times in 20 minutes and I’m at the end of my patience with this.

The laptop in question seems to be an HP OMEN laptop. HDMI is 2.0 and the USB ports are USB 3.1. Should be okay I think, but yeah check with the compatibility utility first.
