Back in Jan/Feb/March/April people were socializing (more "physically" as in moving) and hanging out exploring new maps.
Now everyones just standing infront of a mirror regardless of world and mostly in private (invite only) maps. Its kind of boring. And everyones in some kind of pretend VR relationship.

Even people in that very discord have been recommending using Colliders to prevent clipping. And you havent uttered a word against it there.

And are you saying its a good idea to have a single bone for back hair? Thats insane. That hair will be as static as a tree trunk. There will be no flow (physically impossible since there are no other bones)

Theres like 4 individual strands on the back.
He merges all 4 strands into 2 bones.
Meaning they will all regardless, act as a single bone.
There will be no real sway, the strands will act like a trunk and not move properly.

Not sure how you weight paint then my dude but i have used just 2a3 bone tree's that worked all neaty and cute with proper settings so GWnanamiLaceShrug

I do agree 2 is tight AF- But its better then you having them 12 colliders and having technically an extra IK system on your avatar because of it in performance hits

@umbral reef normal sized fox head. 1 collider for the head is enough, prevents any and all clipping there. For back hair into chest you just use the inertia or stiffness.

Yes the fur shaders people use have lots of draw calls but it is possible to disable those tails by changing shaders in safety settings. Materials and dyn bones can't be fixed

Poly count increases load on the GPU, which isn't really challenged for the majority of players in this game, even the fairly low end ones.

Most systems are bound to one core because of how the current unity version works
But even within the new unity version its almost imposible to change
Systems like the IK cant be split raw over cores, they have to be locked to one core at a time

They can to my knowledge split cores to IK / rendering and Networking + voip by default what would help a lot

I also have a couple in my server who have both and they both agreed that they enjoy the rift more in vrchat because of the touch controllers. But true it is subjective. It really is to preference

Like, the vive tracking system is unquestionably the best. But every headset has trade offs.
You can get the vive with the best tracking system, but worse controllers (currently) and more pronounced sde.
Rift with best current controllers, but smaller tracking space.
Odyssey+ for best screen, but less reliable tracking when hands are at your side or behind you.
Vive pro... The damn price. Lol
