Try oculus support. Depending on the type of damage they might be able to send you a replacement one for free. Mine was kinked at the spot where the bracket holds it against the headstrap.

I'd be very excited if the devs figured out a way to make the game work on the quest. I think that'd help more people transition from desktop to VR and further the game's growth. If the quest delivers on the promise it could be a lot of people's first VR headset. That being said, I've heard the quest has performance comparable to last gen consoles (xbox 360, ps3) so it would be quite a stretch to get anything resembling the current version of VRChat working on there.

I have a question, not really sure where to put it but is there any way to play VRChat without a VR and get the best experience? I have a headset but its one of those headsets that only come with one controller.. Its a Utopia headset, and the first controller broke the first day I got it. So I can only move my head, but is there anything I can do to be able to move my arms and hands etc etc. I tried Wii remotes, and I was wondering if playstation vr controllers would work? I can't afford a vive headset or anything like that. I tried asking my parents to get one for Christmas or my birthday but they said no. So is there anything I can do for a cheap price thats not hundreds of dollars?

Yeah, there's a reason why they're so cheap.
Basically, you need anything that has SteamVR support.
Which is:
A. Oculus Rift / Oculus Rift DK 1 and 2 (DKs are much older and they don't come with controllers);
B. HTC Vive / HTC Vive Pro;
C. Any of the Windows Mixed Reality headsets (if you live in the US, you can buy a headset and a pair of controllers for $150 total);
D. Not sure how many other manufacturers are there, but maybe Pimax could work? I guess?
Overall, I'd say that WMR/WXR is the best option for you if you don't really care about the quality of your experience but can't afford paying an average price for a modern headset.

@rocky arch If cost is your main limiting factor, definitely check out the WMR line of HMDs. Even better is as the holiday season is steadily going to be coming up they're likely to go on sale.
They aren't the best, but they're not entirely awful.

Yeah, I have an Acer AH100 and it has an LCD panel and it's nowhere near as nice colour as my Vive/Vive Pro which is OLED.

Hey guys, I heard there are a number of settings that could be tweaked for the Rift that cater to VRChat, such as disabling asyncronous whatever (i forgot what), I was curious if anyone could help me pull up these settings via SteamVR, and what to adjust on my Rift, thanks

I think there were only 2 settings people usually talked about, the asynchronous reprojection and another one under it. Forgot the name as well

There was also super sampling amount you could change
It will make your view blurrier/sharper depending on amount, 1 being default
I find that 1.4 doesn't impact performance that much and looks better on my pc

SLOBS does not have official support for OpenVR, but people have found workarounds

The mirror, in the steamvr window settings, you can turn on the mirror of what your headset sees, not just the vrchat window. You can set the steamvr mirror to center view so the recording is a larger fov than the desktops mirror... Unless you don't want to use steamvr like that

I was just annoyed that my question was going to get lost in the sea of random.
@ivory folio The render queue for shaders in the material tab seems to be restricted by vrchat somehow, but that also makes it hard to use a lot of transparent shaders over themselves.
If i knew what limitation (if any) that the render queue uses in vrchat it would help a ton.

But that is what i did to fix the last 3 times my shader had rendered over things it shouldn't have.
I just dont know why this time it wont work.

@small wing you have to set the queue value in the shader itself, for some daft reason setting it in the material properties doesn't work right.

in general, its queue index
so whatever number you put into that box, it will take the render queue in the blend mode section and add that number to it
so if your render queue is "Geometry" and your queue index is 1000, your final render queue will be 3000

That sounds strange Wylyam. Try deleting your cache (the folder called "vrchat" at C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\LocalLow\VRChat")
