Sounds like a bug. Bugs don't have anything to do with performance

It could be slow internet (you would probably need below 1mbps to disconnect from VRChat) or issues with SteamVR.

@rocky arch have you looked into mixed reality headsets, those usually come cheaper than the rest, and if your price range is actually 200 dollars.... you might be able to get the headset but i'm not sure about the controllers

You can't hear speech bubbles, so the person would have to be looking at you to see it. They could also overlap, and we'd have the problem with spam, etc.
