A few things. So VRC is a social platform. Yadayadayada, that whole song and dance, pretend I just told you what you already know.

But the thing about VRC is that the most consistent type of friends will not be found in publics. Publics are abandoned by many entirely. You will only run into outcasted people, toxic people, and the occasional kind person who plays ever few weeks.

The best way to experience VRC is to join groups with Discords. You'll want to find a group that aligns with your values and join it. Join social group instances and just find someone to converse with. Consider grabbing a pool cue and playing solo pool, let others approach you if you want in that instance

The goal is to make an actual connection with someone who you ask to add. Then if you see them ever in a friends+ instance, that's your ticket to join and meet new similar people. Friends + is pubic lobbies filtered by someone in the instance bothering to add someone so you weed out the worst people automatically.

A little rant about the VRC+ old loading screen.

But first of thank you, having been on this game for almost a decade, this gave me a lot of nostalgia and made me genuinely happy, and I instantly made sure to reactivate the "go" button just so I don't skip super fast through it.

But at the same time it feels like a shot in the back by allowing those who have very fond memories to only enjoy it if they
pay up every month. I have thousands and thousands of hours on VRChat so I'm happy to (and do) contribute once in a while. Its just that with how many things are subscriptions nowadays, and my income that isn't 100% stable, I just can't commit to be stuck to monthly payments for everything.

I am fully willing to pay for it in the shop even at a premium, I have been even before VRC+ got rolled out years ago now, but if the current implementation stays how it is it kind of just feels like our genuine nostalgia and love for this game is being milked by locking it behind the most expensive purchase option.

Maybe this rant is for nothing and you guys were planning to add it to the shop/give it to old accounts from that time for free. I just wanted to let my thoughts clear, but also make clear I'm genuinely glad to have been able to relive the screen what has given me so many friends.

The biggest issue with creating games in VRchat is that it uses its own scripting system Udon/Udon# rather than Unity’s native scripting system. The language itself is reasonably straightforward but many of the library calls aren’t well documented

The big problem with making a backrooms game that i've noticed is that if it's just the typical backrooms environment it's going to be incredibly boring (i.e. yellow walls, flourescent lights, carpeted floor repeated forever)

Like "The Snackrooms" where it's just endless break rooms full of food, or "The Crackrooms" where the walls are just made up of heavily cracked stone, or "The Blackrooms" that's just pitch black and you have to use a flashlight to get around. Or "The Rackrooms" where the walls are made up of racks of ribs and clothing racks
