First time buying a vr, gonna go with quest 3s, idk if 2.5h battery will be enough and someone recomendes that cabble you use, how long does it take to charge? Plus can i put the 2 entrances on my pc ( since i have both ) forgot to mention @faint geyser

I will be honest. The JSAUX Link cable isn't actually going to charge the Quest 3 if it's being used heavily, but it still can help it to not lose charge quickly. It will take roughly about 2-3 hours for the cable to charge the headset to full if it's not used

Quest 3 takes like 18W charge, while the cable only can charge with 10W output (okay for Quest 2)

I've got a bit of a settings question if anyone knows: Is there a way to set it so the home world you spawn into is set to invite only?

Right now mine sets it to friends whenever I spawn in, but a lot of the time I'm spending the first 15-30 minutes I'm in vrchat adjusting settings between being on headset and being in desktop mode (And hooking up audio in desktop is a whole ordeal since my headphones have this awful setting that turns my computer volume up to 80% as soon as they connect and I have to connect my mic after). I've had one of my friends jump in my homeworld 2-3 times now, and the first time they nearly blew my eardrums because I had no mic set yet and my volume was maxed out.

In one way you want to prevent spamming that randomly, but putting the name of persons there extremely shifts the burden of actually daring to fight bullies / bad people as then you can become their specific target cus they know who it was.

As this is a instance wide vote, the anonymity is the imo. best approach here.

Players can remain anonymous while forcing others to make decisions based on incomplete information. It feels like having the power to influence outcomes without taking responsibility. Otherwise, we're essentially allowing anonymous accusations to drive collective actions, which creates its own problems.

Being able to see who was attempting to take action against you would just put a huge target on u, resulting in malicious users crashing you.

It's basically a huge red flag saying "it's me, crash me!"

Moment a malicious user would even see you point at them like you're selecting their collider to kick them, bam, crashed.

But in all instances, it's just a hour kick and you're able to rejoin that same instance, and you're always able to join any other instance or make your own.

There's simply no reason to know who submitted a vote kick.

If you think being kicked from a specific instance for an hour is some grave misjustice, then you may be taking the game too seriously. Shit happens. Make a new instance, then you can kick who you want, or just join a different instance with better people. You're not kicked from a world, just that specific instance, and only for 60 minutes. It's a non problem.

Meanwhile the very real threat of retaliation is huge. It can entirely undermine the function of the whole system.

If you're in a instance you made and a toxic user joins, who sees you attempt to kick them, and they instantly crash you, would you be in here complaining about that?

Slightly inconvenience a few users for 60 minutes, or break the entire usability of the system.

I've been having issues with Rift suddenly since November and I hate it so much. it doesnt make sense cause it only happens with VRC+Rift+my PC (old and new build). been waiting so long for VRC support to get back. last time they replied they just asked if I still have the issue and I'm like yes... havent even been able to confirm if VRC has stopped supporting Rift or not in any way. but I've met a guy in VRC who also uses Rift and doesnt have the problem. I've tried so many things including two other Rifts and brought it to my brother's house. it sounds like magic. so just wanna find more people who can confirm and who I can maybe try to copy the setup from and ask about versions etc.

Vrchat itself has a long history of mass ban waves including mass bannings of "littles" groups, users and their worlds as well as similar content. Alt detection isn't perfect and content is user generated in very large quantities so it's up to users to submit proper reports with information of TOS violations for moderation staff to act on.

Tupper likely can't protect anyone realistically as he's not a moderator nor does he own vrchat and that notion seems to ignore the long history of taking widespread action against those forms of people, content and groups.
