Hey guys I’m new to this Discord and VRChat as a whole but I heard on YouTube that VRChat is coming to mobile including iOS. I have a iPhone and I was wondering how can I join the Closed Beta, or if I missed it how can I join the next test for VRChat iOS? I hope what I said made sense and any answers to my questions will be greatly appreciated!
Apple has a limit of 10,000 user per testflight, and VRChat already hit the cap unfortunately. You'll need to wait for the official App Store's release most likely

The survey was made before the 16 series existed. However that survey is just how they get the device distribution equal for the beta, but it won’t lock you to that device. Your closest device would be a 15 Pro

so i need help debugging. any suggestions are welcome. the ios version of one of my worlds has been running for over a year now without a glitch. this last app update changed that. i even updated to the latest sdk and uploaded.
where the challenge is, attempting to load into my world crashes the vrchat entirely. you see loading and the app is then gone. so there are no logs and i have no idea how to find out what is happening

The point of the different icons is to let others know which platform you're using except PC

android and ios are both entirely independent platforms
I have been able to upload my Android avatars over to iOs without issue by switching platforms on Unity.
It is just the android restrictions but you still need to upload it to ios specifically

It’s an issue with vrchat avatar stuff not world dev
Players that have their avatar disabled and are grey robots have a 50% chance to be stuck in place and not position sync when you join the instance

which is why i was saying, are the avatars that are stuck in place having their animators correctly falling back? but after you elaborated this appears to be some other issue
i was saying this because a similar issue has happened to impostors for multi-animator avatars
That bug was fixed in 2025.3.4p1 but iOS was a little behind. We just put out an update that includes a fix for this, please update and let us know!

I had better access on Android when I had Android but with iPhone I can't use the app
It’s 6GB for both OSes, TBF, Android has been using 6GB since 2017, and iOS started in 2020 with the 12 Pro.
The difference for Android, if your device was below 6GB it still could run VRC and enter the world but it won't work/game crash on heavy world and crowded instances, only light world and very less detail from my experience
Surprisingly it runs well on my iPhone 14 Pro Max.
How to enable Metal FX
If I was to buy stuff from the shop is it a lot easier to buy things off the phone version of vrchat I mean to buy the money anyways instead of putting money on stean to than use it on vrchat

Yeah doing some research, MetalFX literally isnt a thing for VRC since it would be pointless to upscale anything in the game
But I'm 100% sure Metal API (completely different thing) is used in VRC4iOS, otherwise the game would be a lagging mess

i was never able to find what was causing one of my worlds to crash vrchat on load in. however, the last release restored everything back to the way it was during beta and its all resolved! so thank you vrchat for fixing what ever was going on! 🙂
Hey guys I just gifted 5 vrc plus to friends and yet some people are saying they haven’t got it but I can see it on my Apple Pay

Noticing some of my avatars had their android versions auto converted to IOS but not all of them. Is there a way to force an avatar to auto generate an IOS compat version (besides uploading it myself)?

I found that the oldest ones you can get would be the 12 or 13, both are pretty new so i doubt theyd be considered "cheap"

Is there something weird going on with the iOS setup with the SDK? I can build and publish for PC and Android no problem, but since switching to iOS, it seems to complain about random scripts and assemblies now for seemingly no reason.
That or Unity broke itself somehow when switching platforms as it tends to use all my RAM and then shit itself, so that's not entirely impossible.

The fact that scripts that are not used in the current scene breaking breaks the build in itself is infuriating.
Found the issue, the LTCGI assembly is not marked to be usable with iOS. Altering this appears to fix the issue.
I have a shader that works fine on PC and Android (including Quest) but doesn't work properly on iOS. Are there any major gotchas I should be looking out for when it comes to iOS support?
