Pressing this button could de-escalate situations, depending on how bad you messed with someone, or how many times you've done it, like if you accidently hit someone with your car or while trying to fight someone else.

Idk man, I think that the trigger-happy nature of civilians in streets of rogue really adds to the chaotic atmosphere, and it leads to a lot of intense and interesting interactions in the original game.
