🚀 Project Starbound
Project Starbound is a single-player space exploration game currently in development using Unreal Engine 5. The game features a stylized low-poly art style and combines several gameplay systems including inventory management, crafting, base building, missions, and deep exploration.
🌕 The Beginning
The journey begins with the discovery of a newly habitable moon orbiting Jupiter. You are part of the first expedition sent to explore this mysterious world and uncover the secrets hidden beneath its surface.
While this discovery is where your story starts, it’s far from the only path available. In Project Starbound, you are free to forge your own journey — exploring planets and moons, building bases, completing missions, or uncovering ancient secrets scattered throughout the solar system.
🪐 Voxel Planets
Planets and moons are voxel-based, meaning the terrain is fully interactive. You can mine deep underground to gather valuable resources or carve out your own hidden underground base.
🏗️ Base Building
The building system allows you to construct and customize your own bases using a variety of structural shapes and pieces. You’ll also be able to place decorative items, terminals, and crafting stations to expand your base and support your exploration.
🚀 Space Travel
Travel across the solar system with your own spaceship. You’ll be able to fly between planets, moons, and other locations — just make sure your ship is properly fueled before setting off on longer journeys.
🛰️ Space Stations
Throughout the solar system you will encounter space stations that act as hubs for missions, information, trading, and story elements. Some may be abandoned, while others are controlled by powerful factions.
🏛️ Guilds & Factions
Various guilds and factions exist across the solar system, each with their own goals, technologies, and influence. By completing missions and interacting with them, you can build reputation and favor, unlocking new opportunities, rewards, and story paths.
📜 Missions
Project Starbound will feature a wide range of missions such as:
- Exploration missions
- Salvage operations
- Defense contracts
- Resource gathering
- Discovery and investigation missions
These missions help expand the story while guiding you deeper into the mysteries of the solar system.
