I’d like to propose a new initiative called Learn with Unreal Source, designed to create a structured learning space within our community. The goal is to provide opportunities for professionals specializing in different fields, such as level design, programming, animation, arts, VFX, SFX, game design, and many more, to share their expertise with others.

Proposed Format:
• Sessions held twice a month via Discord voice call/screen share.
• Each session is led by a host/mentor who presents and shares knowledge.
• To maintain focus, only the host speaks during the session.
• Participants can engage by typing questions or comments in the chat, which the host can address at appropriate times.

This format ensures that presentations run smoothly without interruptions while still allowing for interactive learning. It would provide a valuable opportunity for anyone (like myself) interested in expanding their skills to learn directly from experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.

I believe this initiative could greatly enhance our workspace culture by fostering knowledge sharing, collaboration, and professional growth. Thank you!

Sounds kinda cool, but are there any mentors/teachers willing to put the time in?

Could be kinda cool of in return the mentor could use it to advertise their boot camp or whatever. You get a taster sessions ans support, they get to offer extended service.

My only concern would be how to vet people so you don't have YouTube tutorial slop creator #28385 taking up slots

I think it might be better on something like twitch, though.

I'm not sure personally. Where better to have something like this than here when we already host other unreal qna events, as well as it being a help server.
Twitch is a whole different userbase there

We were in talks with various people in the industry trying to set something like this up.

Yes. Things are moving slow, but we're working on it.

We've both been in crunch on our respective game projects, and it is taking time to get commitment from guest speakers. Hopefully we'll have some good news to share after the holiday season is over.
