Cool!
Thank you. Feedback and suggestions are appreciated
I like the look we think alike, a little. My ideal rooftop. Sorry this is Twinmotion 25.2 just before taking to UE
Yeah, I can see the similarities. Nice work, what's the project you're working on?
Hey, I just noticed that this has turned into a small little chat, sorry for not noticing earlier.
I'll show you guys the stage I'm currently at, I got a bit stuck due to life stuff.
But I want to give you an idea of the sort of geometry I want.
This is a prototype apartment.
I haven't worked on textures or materials, I'm not there yet.
The cartoon face on the wall is going to be an angular samurai
This one here is shaping out to be a police station.
I tried out a few colors to see which palette I want to aim for, don't worry about the blockiness of it, I just grabbed something to showcase color combinations.
The black and dark purple mix are kind of cool.
This one's a night club.
And a fast food restaurant.
A guard tower
^ my own work isn't at the level of those 2 buildings, they are concepts finished by a contractor based on my designs.
The game is set in the year 2225, giving me almost 200 years of history to fill in the world. I didn't want to set it out too far into the future, as I want to retain some familiarity with our existing time period.
When I researched existing sci-fi designs, I found that they fall into 3 basic types: 1. Very fluid and curved, mimicking shapes found in nature. 100% of the time it's filled with white buildings. Not much color besides white. it's very "clean" and utopian. 2. Brutalist, gray or black, angular, dystopian. Any colors come from advertisements and neon lights, of which there are a lot. 3. Industrial. Once again, blocky, with lots of panels and exposed connective infrastructure. Typically favors muted colors, of which there are quite a bit.
But I want to do something of my own, something different, still angular, but as you can see I'm varying the geometry quite a bit and I rely on the buildings themselves to be colorful, depending on their use.
I'm also making it more playful.
This is from an earlier build, it's a market concept build with blocking volume for now.
A bookshop/hangout.
Snowboard shop.
