Here's a simple viewport utility that lets you pan around from the actual game camera angle - with normal WASD controls, editing capabilities and proper collision alignment. When you're done, it drops it's mockup camera exactly where you left off.

Dealing with preview game perspective cameras becomes this:

  1. Toggle Sync active. Viewport matches game. Pan into view you want to keep with standard WASD.
  2. Turn Sync off. Second viewport pilot camera now has the new view.

. It's a simple addition that feels like a part of the editor that always should've been there.
