What you are seeing here is about a month's work of progress
I got this idea while playing Death Stranding and Zelda Majora's Mask.
Basically:
Town Trust & Reputation → like Death Stranding's Porter Grade System
Dungeon Crawling → like Zelda (combat, puzzles, treasure) with hints of Darkest Dungeon (danger, risk/reward).
Gameplay → Devil May Cry / Bayonetta - Includes a Grab and also a Charge Attack ability currently. Player can also auto target enemies based on stick rotation similar to the Batman Arkham games.
Exploration → semi-open world like Death’s Door or Zelda: A Link to the Past, with distinct themed regions.
Visual Style → 2D sprites in 3D environments like Octopath Traveler.
So overall: Death Stranding’s “connections" system + DMC combat + Zelda’s dungeons + Octopath’s art style.
The combat system has been nailed down, but I do want to add more to it, and also the quest system is going to be more fleshed out and the Town / Town Rep system needs to implemented. But wanted to show a bit of it here.
Also going to add dungeons as well.
Currently focused on adding more combat features, also fleshing out the quest system some more before moving onto other things as a solo dev.
