What started as a 9-month challenge to build a hunting game and get it to a Steam playtest has turned into something much more personal. Eight years ago, when I first began game development, my goal was to create a hunting game. While I haven’t completed that goal yet, this year will be different. This year, I will finish the hunting game I’ve always dreamed of making.
Some people might not like it, some may even call it trash, and that's fine. This isn't about pleasing anyone else it's about me sticking to a promise I made to myself all those years ago. Despite all the doubts, the "it's stupid" and "it’s not worth it" comments, I’m pushing forward. I don’t expect this to be some huge hit or something groundbreaking; it’s about seeing something through to the end, no matter the outcome.
So, here’s where the game stands right now. Seven months into this journey, and though it’s still a work in progress, it’s coming along. And the best part? I’m loving every minute of it, because this is what I set out to do. I don’t care if anyone else likes it at this point. It’s about fulfilling the promise I made to myself.
