#GPU Crash Debugging help request
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Hey UE Source Discord, I’m working on a virtual production UE project, and we've been experiencing a lot of GPU-related crashes. It’s been a bit sporadic, and I just don’t quite understand how to decipher our logs and the GPU breadcrumbs to pinpoint the exact issue.
Our issue at this point is that Unreal will render out all 11 shots in our queue for a scene no issue on Saturday, then when we’re attempting to render out the same shots with adjustments from the director on Monday, it crashes constantly. We had a similar issue where it crashes 4 times over, then by the 5th time it rifles through the render with no issue.
The Log reports would also range from Unreal going massively over the Local Video Memory budget (4090 GPU with 128GB of Ram)
To a Crash where it wasn’t.
When it renders it speeds through and works great. When it doesn’t its hours lost to crashing trying different shots and different render settings even with the command SCALABILITY 0 in 1080p just to see if that works and those crash too.
If anyone here has any experience debugging GPU crashes, especially within virtual production workflows.
I am an avid Unreal Fest and Inside Unreal Watcher so if there is a talk I may not know of that can help out in our case that will great as well.
I am Happy to share more logs, setup specs, and context when needed. Any insight or direction would be massively appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
