@valid bear I'm experiencing exactly the same issue (UE 5.6), and also running out of googled options. Literally everything you are doing I have also tried and experienced the same issues. It's infuriating, because there's limited info on what could be happening.
Yeah I think it's just Nanite landscapes being plain broken in 5.6
When I test a blank open world level it works with nanite! I read a suggestion that world partition has an influence here. So it may be that just non-partitioned landscapes is broken. More testing needed...
I can confirm that when I don't use a Landscape, and instead export a mesh from Gaea, nanite works just fine...
hey folks, if you want to work around this for now, just turn on world partition. the problem does not occur when world partition is enabled, annoyingly.
I planned on using WP from the jump, but for my learning, I wasn't ready to really mess with it, but had to go ahead and jump headfirst in and use it, because it does remediate the nanite issue, from what I can tell. I was not able to reproduce the issue with world partition on, at all.
