A Snowboard game project using Unreal Engine 4, greatly inspired by Amped 3, in fact meant to be a spiritual successor of said title (down to the scenario if possible).
It should be as goofy as the game it's inspired by but with a more sober presentation, a better sense of realism in terms of environments, and a scenario more down to Earth that should adopt an amateur film cinematic quality (not the most crucial part of the project, but I have ideas).
I'm using elevationapi.com to take real geography data that I'll turn into many rideable spots, both resorts and backcountries, from all around the globe.
Gameplay will be at it's core a button-smashing / arcade type like in a Tony Hawk's game (like Amped 3 was, it's more addictive and gratifying than a simulation in my sense) but it will have some immersive options (1st person view) and other activities outside snowboard (motorski, sledge... and something original I keep secret).
Graphics should be super optimized for the game to run on systems from a good decade ago — I'm choosing performances over quality with well made aesthetics and postcard-like sceneries. It should have a Time of Day feature where it won't be possible to ride on resorts during night until you unlock some type of VIP Pass.
I'm for now mostly working on general Design, Levels, Instance / Save and UI stuff. Gameplay is quite a challenge since I've never coded any genre outside FPS.
At best I'd like to release the game by October of next year.
