#Bot message in career-chat with instructions

I've seen on some discord servers there is a message, often a bot message, instructing to go to a specific channel to read #instructions before posting, or similar.
I'm not sure what rules the bots follow, is it automatically after the last message (that could be annoying), or is it after the channel had gone silent for a while, etc.

This info is on the channel description but it gets missed all the time (understandably). This channel is constantly mistaken for a job posting channel.

It might be a good general feature for channels that frequently get misused/misunderstood.

On the other hand, its not really a big deal to redirect them either.

@lime fox A periodic "reminder" that #career-chat is not for posting jobs and instead that #instructions is where users should look, would be a good idea.

#

I could imagine that you would be able to set it to some timer based thing, every 6 hours, it checks if it needs to repost it.

#

Or some other criteria.

#

#career-chat isnt exactly a fast moving channel, so the message should get good coverage.

Sounds like we're on the same page 🙂

I don't think it's really a misunderstanding most of the time 😛

Not to this specifically but in general, for anything at all, it's very rarely anything else

It could be ignorance, rather than misunderstanding. 😛
