😂
yeah, still need to do something about that
anyway looks very unsettling
how are u pushing the graphics, is there some special things u do?
Not really pushing, but I tried many many light and post process settings for the past three months to achieve the most realistic looking result.
I would say there is still some room for improvement, but I think it is currently at a level where can compete against some other realistic looking games
well its very nice already
do u use hdri backdrop?
yes
the bodycam devs said its the secret they discovered for the most realistic lighting possible
im guessing you probaby know about it, but have you looked at the shooter unrecord?
its being made by a dude from the group columbine, its french

To be announced
feels like youre doing some things similar
also the project looks hella cool!
Yes, it's graphics are also the main part why I even started creating this game haha. Because I am a Minecraft modder, I wanted to see if it is possible to bring one of our horror Minecarft mods into a real game and rn, it looks like it 😄
I probably spent a few days of programming trying to see what light settings are the most realistic and hdri is definetely the most realistic. Because if you look out your window, you mostly don't see harsh shadows or real light contrast. Combined with the grayish and cloudy hdri, it makes it so realistic
yeah, i've read that there is much to achieve with just tinkering with the settings, there is also a lot console commands to tweak, to get even better lumen and things like that
you ever tried replicating how different cameras process light?
what do u mean?
a post processor that mimics the result of certain cameras.
ill get a video somewhere in a sec
i couldn't find a video describing what I'm talking about. basically cameras are imperfect compared to the human eye.
in matching realism based on photography you would need to learn the mistakes cameras make and reproduce them in a post processor.
bodycam does this
Yes, for example the hdri background is completely overexposed and when looking into the sky, the surface goes very underexposed. Still I think there is some improvement for the lighting on surface
Here you can see it better
