Journey of a Fallen God Devlog Two's script is now finished. This was supposed to be done weeks ago, but February was a very busy month for me so I wan't able to work on it as much as I wanted.

How did you do the landscape? I really like the style.

I handsculpted the actual shape and topography of the island and then programmed a procedural material to texture it, then used pcg to generate foliage, and then created another pcg system that would generate roads along a spine and cut holes in the foliage, and alot of heavy lifting is done by the post process material to make the texturing look less flat and plastic like.

Oh and the towns are based on a pcg system that places random buildings along roads within a specified volume, I'm going a lot more indepth into how it works in the next devlog. I'm relying alot on pcg because I'm just one person and I don't want to get burnt out from working on the project.

I finally recorded the voice-over for devlog 2. Sorry for the long wait, I was really busy in the month of February and was still trying to get something done with the little time I had and it caused me to get burnt out, so I took the month of March off to recover, but be assured I'm still actively working on the project, even it it's just story. I may have accidentally written an entire mythology for the game.

So, the long awaited second devlog is here. I didn't mean for it to take this long to come out, but I just had alot going on that stopped me from working on it. Also sorry for any gainy footage, I recorded all the footage not realizing my cpu was overheating :), but that is fixed now, so it shouldn't be a problem in future devlogs.

Work on Devlog 3 is going well. I'm mostly finished with the first enemy of the game, and work to do with overhauling the player combat and movement systems are going well.

I've been taking a break from developing the game for a few days in order to prevent burnout, but I should be able to get more work done over the next few months due to my summer break finally starting. I have finished the rework of the movement system though.

So far work on Devlog three is coming along well. I've expanded upon the game's save system massively, created the first functioning enemy, revamped the player movement system, and begun work on the first dungeon. I just need to revamp the game's combat systems, add a few more enemies, and finish the first dungeon and devlog two should be ready to be made. This will most likely take a few weeks to a month of steady work, but devlog three should be out before the start of August if all goes to plan.

I've been making steady progress on the creation of the first temple for Journey of a Fallen God. This temple will take longer to create than future ones because I'm having to make a modular dungeon system from scratch. In terms of actual modularity the system is finished, but in terms of functionality it has a long way to go.

So, It's been a while since I have done an update, but rest assured, the project is still being worked on, I have just been taking a break from working on it because of PC troubles, and just general burnout, but the game is still being worked on, and Devlog 3 is still happening.

Recently I have been working on redoing the game's Inventory system, and now it is done. I'm definitely going to change things in regards to how it looks, but it does already look much better in my eyes.

I finally have created a new NPC model. I also used morph targets to allow for body shape changes in order to achieve more variety in game. Now I just need to make a female variation and hair types and the visuals of the NPCs will be done.

The Third act of treason from Anadajuhuchah was the blocking of the light of the upper realms of Anadahzaja. This left Jinuuchiahju in a cold darkness that froze all of it. This killed many of the world's inhabitants, which saddened Jinnuchana, so he devised a plan to save the world from it's darkness. He took three round stones; one large and white, two small and grey, and enchanted them to absorb the light of Anadahzaja, before throwing them into orbit around Jinuuchiahju. This orbit allowed them each to enter the upper realms and absorb its light before entering back into Jinuuchiahju, allowing light backing into the world. This is the story of the creation of the Sun and Moons of Jinuuchiahju.

The new Town Procedural Generation system is almost done. I just need to program the house generation.

What differentiates this from the original system is it generates content in a far less buggy way than the old one (Lower change of objects clipping,) and also dynamically generates branching roads from the main road(s) (Hand made roads) that run through the towns. This comes together to make a far more reliable and easy-to-use system for generating towns.

Only one more feature left until devlog 4 is ready for production. That feature though is fairly large, so it may take a while, but devlog 4 should be out before the end of the year.

So... this one didn't take as long as the last, I know; it's unbelievable. I actually released a video in a decent amount of time.
