Hi, can you guys give me some feedback on this. Mostly on the materials/textures on the wall on the right. I'm building a mayan temple, but I'm using megascans materials
I don't have a specific reference, but I'll post 2 images of something similar that I'm trying to achieve
do you have any better ideas as for materials/textures combinations. For example take a look at the wall on the right. You have a background wall and a wall on the front. Currently they both use 2 different materials. Should I keep them different or the same?
And do you have any better materials/textures to suggest? I can post some more images tomorrow. Thanks!

That look awesome, first one imo too hight
that is a reference, the first image is what I have
Oh, imo your piramid is too hight
The pyramid is not the same type, I'm only showing the style that Im aiming for and the environment. I need opinion on the materials that I'm using
which one is better, I changed the back wall
Imo that
^ Agreed. That first one
I think it looks good! The first pic looks a tad better but they’re both good
Thanks guys. I'm open to any other suggestions, like tiling, material combinations whatever. I'll post a few more updates soon
you need to think about the story it is telling, and not just build something.
What is the story of the building in detail? and I don't mean; "In 1400, the Mayans used this building for sacrificing maidens to their gods", but as if what you made is the main character.
"I have been here for decades, centuries even, my once pristine walls and floors are crumbing under its own weight. The strong winds and rain are leaving their mark. yadayada.
Wind brings durst, dirt, leaves, and seeds with it.
Then consider what Rain does; it seeps into cracks and both washes away and anything it washes away sticks into the cracks. Over longer periods of time it will polish and smoothen surfaces as well as nurturing anything that started to grow in the cracks, and what grows in the cracks, will crack and damage even more.
Moss will take a hold, and moss is a sponge to more dirt and dust, creating a cycle of ever expanding surface of dirt and moss.
Animals will start to live there, so do insects.
Also keep in mind that back in those days you didnt have cement, so how are blocks being places. In your image, unless the big blocks are very deep into the building, that gap at the bottom might not make sense. Its also very repetative in damage and structure, break it up, change it, add the moss, add the damage, add cracks from ever expanding water-ways. Make the building tell a story.
I'm already adding more details and stuff ... moss ,cracks, dirt, leaks, etc. Still a lot of work left tho
I'm also wondering if I should make the block smaller (like the top 2 walls) or keep them bigger like the bottom one
I think the big ones give it more "heavy" and cool look, but the smaller ones are closer to the original pyramids
the original reference was the Chichen Itza pyramid. But the goal here is to give it more ancient and jungle look like the 2 images I posted on the top
Hey guys, here is a little update, also testing some PCG vegetation like veins etc. Any suggestions?
In my opinion, the walls are a bit too uniform. If you're going for a an old, abandoned temple, I think it would have been more broken down. For example the stairs could have some missing parts, or you could add more rubble and broken bricks on the terraces.
I really like the diverse vegetation. It shows that the temple has seen much better days. However the tree on the second photo, looks like it's sticking right out the stone. What you could do, is to add some dirt, or cover its trunk with tall grass.
For me the blocks come out too far. I would make them thinner.
See El Castillo design. Its not as pronounced. Making them thinner would add more to the weathering of it also. Being that defined makes it look surgical imo.
Wow, this is GREAT! It looks fantastic and very realistic.
From viewing some of the real temples, their stairs sometimes has very step steps. Very unnatural shape almost. Maybe would look bad for playing.
I think your works is very well done from my untrained eye.
