Hello fellow unreal developers,
I'm excited to share with you all a project I've been passionately working on: HarmonyLink. It's a tool I believe could significantly enhance how we approach handheld development.
🔍 What is HarmonyLink?
HarmonyLink is an open-source (Apache 2.0 License) tool I developed to provide real-time system information. It's designed to empower developers like me with the ability to tailor gaming experiences on handheld devices, especially in terms of performance and battery efficiency.
🔋 Battery Power Detection & Optimization
One of the standout features of HarmonyLink is its ability to detect the device's battery power. This means you, as a developer, can adjust the game settings accordingly to balance performance and battery life – which I believe is crucial for handheld gaming.
🎮 Designed for Steam Deck, Works with all Handhelds
While HarmonyLink is optimized for the Steam Deck, its utility extends to all handheld gaming devices. This broader applicability makes it a versatile tool in your development arsenal.
🕹️ Unreal Engine 5.0+ Plugin
To make integration as smooth as possible, HarmonyLink comes with a plugin for UE5.0+. Just drop it into your project, and you're good to go (No external files or dependencies needed). The goal is to streamline the process, so you can focus more on creativity and gameplay.
🐧 Cross Linux Boundaries
Another exciting feature is its ability to transcend the limitations of Linux Wine / Proton, allowing games to accurately detect and respond to the underlying system.
As a sole developer on this project, my aim is to contribute to the game dev community in a meaningful way. I'm eager to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any ideas on how HarmonyLink can be further improved or utilized in your projects.
