I mean neither is a separate channel or the channel description :P

Channel description would be far too long, and having the resources as pinned messages in the channel is far more intuitive than a separate channel :P

I mean pins are right there. Maybe when the new server guide feature is available there might be some resource links, but doubling the number of channels just for resource links seems excessive.

Sure a more detailed channel description or channel info page would be nice, but that is on Discord to implement

How is using pins for their purpose "not intuitive"?

Sounds to me like you're just not happy with or used to the Discord UI which is kind of a personal/Discord problem.
