I get that this can get messy so should be approached with consideration but would help significantly with quick identification of channels when scanning for a specific channel. I personally always have a hard time finding the bluerprint channel, often go right passed it several times. Its a proven fact that people can interpret icons before they comprehend written words. With the constant growing list of channels, even having simple colored dots in front of the channel names would help with identifying channels faster. Also, when referring to other channels to less familiar members of this discord, you could describe a channel as "the one with the coffee cup! (or colored dot)". I have found that of the several discord servers that I have made, most appreciate the snazzy icons in channel names.
#Icons or emojis in channel names

Keep in mind, that users can customize their channel list as much as they want. They can opt out of almost all channels if they aren't interested in them.
I don't think we have any plans of adding emojis to channels atm.
These emojis were added automatically and the server admins can't cahnge them. Or disable/enable them afaik.
They were on this server for like a week for me and then disappeared again.
Well, if you mean the ones that were added a month or two ago and everyone complained about.
These particular ones he's showing examples of were manually added to the channel name. When it's the version discord forced they were in circles and had a dedicated column next to the # and channel name.
