#Console development channel

How do you accept proof of NDA though. That's a legal thing. We aren't lawyers and I'm sure the mods aren't. What if it turned out someone forged one? Now the server is in hot water with console companies
I don't think that'd fly with Epic anyway.
UDN and console forums exist for a reason
Ok maybe not NDAs, but for platforms I work with they have an email that is linked to the console so you could authenticate with discord or epicgames connected to that account. I've seen other plugins be able to do it that are third party... would be surprised if Epic couldn't do that
They probably can. They just won't. This isn't an official server, it's community run
Considering there are channels now like the EOS channel that has EpicGames staff there its gettting closer to that "official" server where they helped a lot in the beginning on the channel but now are able to get the EOS forums to be active so they're able to redirect people there... my theory is that the same could happen for UE4/UE5 console development if they made it active with one or two EGS staff there per console channel to make it more "official"
Again, this isn't an official server. Epic employees are here because they want to be, not because epic provides support here.
And I doubt pfist and the other mods want to deal with legal troubles around maintaining lists of who has console sdk access. UDN and console dev forums exist for a reason.
Not to mention a lot of us mods are not under NDAs for console development
i would bet not many in this server are tbh
We had that topic before and I'm sure we said we won't add Console Dev Channels due to the reasons already mentioned.
So yes, no Console Dev Channels if they fall under custom licenses and NDAs. You'll have to talk to your contact at Sony or Microsoft or get a UDN License and ask there.
I guess my complaint is more about the lack of help when it comes to being in these console specific forums and would have thought that something like this would help. Sony or Microsoft can't help me with UE4/UE5 specific problems. I think it will happen eventually, but am trying to think of solutions since I've been on the forums for about a year and haven't really seen much help across the board. UnrealSlackers I can find the answer immediately on mobile/PC. Something like that would be great with experts in UE4. I know not all mods can access that, but that's kind of the point. Only select mods that have NDAs could
do any of the mods have the nda signed?
Unfortunately, this isn't something we can facilitate. We have no control over or access to the NDAs required to develop for consoles.
