Maybe some experienced UX designers here who can give me tips? I am definitely not a ui expert, but currently reworking my whole ingame ui because the old one was poorly designed for gamepad and only worked with a mouse properly.

My goal is making the ui easy to navigate (both gamepad and mouse) and give it a bit of a playful theme.

I designed the ui buttons myself in figma, the images on the buttons and the ps4 icons however are not mine, they are just placeholder.

I actually like the UI a lot. It uses the modern box style layout and I think you use it effectively. I think having the options menu on the top of the screen towards the right would be better to make it stand out since that’s usually one of the first things people go to when first starting a game to look at all the settings. I think accessibility should just be taken off the main screen and instead in a separate menu in the options. Also gallery is spelled wrong lol. But besides that I think it looks great and it is very up to date with all the other modern games and their UI. If you want to have the main screen even cleaner than you should try to have a separate main page where it’s just mostly text for each menu option like, START GAME, CONTINUE GAME, GALLERY, CHALLENGES, etc. Using the format of the Halo 3 main screen is very effective I think just because it’s so easy to navigate.

It’s very long but I hope this helps a little. The new modern warfare 2 UI is a terrible example because it’s so confusing to navigate and it looks like a Netflix layout
