A channel that is open for message input by users to ask general Discord Server related questions and concerns without needing to mass ping the Moderator Role. I’m asking this because I want to ask the mod team questions regarding doing an interview for a college assignment, but mass pinging moderators feels like it would be an annoyance or not needed when a channel would make questions not needing Immediate attention viewable by the mod team as a whole without needing to wake someone up

A channel maybe not so much, but adding a /mod command to the bots to send a message to a collection channel for those messages to be sent to, and all mods can view it and DM the user directly with a response could be possible. For now, i'll mark this as "under consideration".
I like this idea
We're launching a new website soon that will have a contact form, which seems like it would be perfect for this use case. 🙂
Sounds more like a system that opens private channels on request, for mods and that user, would also be a cool solution
Already encountered that on other servers
also a way to report trolls that cause disturbance in voice chat.. I saw one today.. he keeps joining and unjoining the channel, so I keep getting notification bell sounds .. so annoying
since he didn't send a message, quoting a message option doesn't apply to such
Yeah I guess a /mod command would help this too
I could see ticket bot being a very useful but very abusable thing for this server.
maybe instead of a channel, theres the command thing, /mod, maybe there could be a channel only mods have access to, and the mod command would open a ticket there, similar to the job channel
thats just like reporting through quinn though.
your going to report someone and then put the reason as "need to ask mod..."?
whats the point in opening a mod only ticket if they can't respond to you?
they can respond to you, see in the job channel how it says "posted by...", the tickets could have the same thing, and the moderator can follow up by either pinging the user in the server or by dm
at that point why not just dm a moderator
idk it just seems a bit redundant if the follow up has to be done in a way in which the initial question can be done too
bc in mother russia, u dont dm moderator, moderator dm u
a server I'm in has a bot for this, dm it, get instructions, follow instructions, dedicated channel for user and mods appears
ok yeah, i didnt see it like that before but that would work
ive also seen a bot where you go in a channel and click a button to open a ticket.
it creates a private channel
it's used by people asking for help a bit too often, but it's used correctly too
"I'm not getting answers to my questions!" check history, it's been 5 minutes...
does it just add all mods to the ticket, or a random one, because if its all mods that just sounds like pinging the moderators tho
mute 24h that's not what the bot's for
all mods
it keeps all correspondence in one place
that's the point, so one doesn't chastise a guy for a thing, another says no issue, and a third bans
it adds all mods but they dont get pinged. they can respond at their leisure.
yeah, maybe it could also do what the forums does before you post smth, and checks for similar posts to avoid repeated questions
we still respond to mod pings for in-channel stuff, it's mostly dm abuse
I kind of like stackoverflow's take on asking the same question: just do it
i feel this could be a really useful addition, but could also get pretty chaotic with off-topic questions like "why isnt ue5 starting"
I respond to 90% of help requests with a subset of the same 4 canned responses that cover most newbie needs
you mentioned that youve seen this on other servers? maybe you could post a link or some examples so that when the moderators are looking at this they can see what we want to add
we delete them when done
most recent was a hacked account sending fake nitro scams
3 people submitted for that
I believe it's this bot: https://modmail.xyz/
yeah modmail is a solid bot used in most big verified and partner servers
