As a seller on the Unreal Engine marketplace, it would be nice to know what the community wants to see in the marketplace. I figure this could be a channel where people posts ideas of assets/systems that they would want from the marketplace, to give those that create assets for it a good idea of what to create. I believe this would help the community as a whole to succeed, with the developers getting the assets they need to make their projects, and the sellers would be making something people would actually buy. I would love to see a channel like this here, and it would make my life, along with many others lives, easier.
#(CHANNEL REQUEST) Marketplce Asset Requests

I kinda feel this would be more suited to the official forums.
people already post these requests in the current marketplace channel, and those are few and far between.
There is also a long thread around it on the official forums.
This would be cool 🙂
could you link that thread to me? ive been trying to find smth like that and havent been successful. Also ive only seen like 3 requests for things on the marketplace channel, and they were either things I couldnt do, or smth u can easily find cc0, like the most recent example: keybind textures.
Unreal Engine Forums
I know just about enough to create my own. By complicated I meant looks complicated. Too much going on for my taste. I could simplify it I know but if would buy it then I would like to use its max not least, if you know what I mean. Here’s what I did for my game to give you a idea what I was looking for:
hey mods, is this going to be marked as under consideration or did luos reject it
It's not outright rejected or it'd have a rejected tag
But I agree with Daekesh, feels more like a forum thing. More searchable and less forgettable. Once it's offscreen in discord, it's basically forgotten
<@&213101288538374145> i am very sorry i have pinged you all but i see this has been rejected and i want to ask if i can post pretty much this same question but with a much more detailed argument sometime in the future. i still feel this is necessary, as the forum thread is extremely disorganized, most of the post are outdated (a ton of the requests before 600 are sci fi assets which is completely oversaturated now), and its also gone inactive
You can post your arguments now but I for one don't think it would change the outcome.
hmm... maybe #fab might benefit from a polls feature from the bot, as also mentioned for #hardware?. with the underlying issue here also being that repeated information gets buried

i like the idea of something like the forum polls feature, where you can easily create a poll, implemented here
!poll Is that a good idea?
(gif of me, in my hand is a vote dying for a poll)
The only thing I could imagine is a forum type channel that users can upvote requests via emojis. Poll feature doesn't seem like it would solve this gracefully.
Using the Unreal Engine Forums is probably still preferred
That's mostly the idea, not too much thought into it, just saying some kind of way to keep repeated information shown, along with the interest in it. How you describe it would definitely be a better solution. Surely you could agree, or at least see, that a single long forum thread is not an ideal solution. The link Luos posted above took me to message 652/846, starting from november 2018. This is not an ideal way to show creators what kinds of things customers are interested in
Want to hear a really out there idea? You put up requests or whatever, people vote on them, and you let the community vote to merge if there are duplicates, utilize the amazing people who help moderate as a member
i'm not against a forum channel for things people desire or in search of on the marketplace
I don't think it would be very useful. Marketplace creators don't normally look for ideas or requests
if you want someone to make something specific for you, you could always commission them to do it
wdym? as a marketplace creator who keeps contact with over 10 other marketplace creators, we all agree that when making a system, you want to make smth ppl want to buy. And a lot of times, were stuck not knowing what to make, and look for public opinion on the forums, which only like 2 ppl ever see. This dicord seems like it would be a lot easier to collect public opinion, which is definitely wanted by most other sellers i know. I love the idea of a channel like this, and if not this, i would love to see a poll tool, which would make it a ton easier to get answers and i feel would greatly benefit the community
Ah, interesting. That's a very different perspective than my own, so I appreciate you sharing it 🙂
thank you for taking that into consideration, maybe some of the bigger sellers dont need ideas from the community, but smaller sellers such as myself could really use community ideas to help us get ahead
<@&213101288538374145> for those of you that are interested, I have created a document that makes the argument for this channel very clear. I request that you review this document, and consider changing the status of this post from rejected, as again, I feel it is necessary and extremely beneficial for the unreal engine community

Why we need a marketplace-requests channel: First, what is a marketplace-request channel? This channel would be another channel on the Unreal Slackers discord server, that would benefit both sellers and buyers on the marketplace. On this channel, buyers could ask for (request) systems that they ...
Please don't ping us for this. We already rejected the idea, and we check the feedback channel regularly.
I will read your proposal later, but please try to reserve moderator pings for critical issues.
oh, very sorry, but when you say the idea was already rejected, do you mean there is no chance it can be put back under consideration?
as I understand it, it has been rejected but they're open to compelling arguments that would cause them to change their mind. Otherwise, it'd be closed and locked in addition to rejected.
