#Remove the default 'home' channel. It is annoying.

Is that a server option? I thought it was a default Discord option, so I complained to them. But if it's a server option, then I fully agree
We can't remove it.
You only land on Home if you haven't visited the server in the last 20 hours.
If you have feedback for improving Home, let us know and we'll pass it on to the Discord team.
I'd say it's device-specific, because I land on home multiple times a day, but I use multiple devices also
Interesting. I was under the impression it wasn't device-specific. Maybe it's a bug.
I'll let the folks at Discord know and report back on what they tell me.
Also, I'm pretty sure I never went more than 20 hours without visiting the server, so it really doesn't feel like it's the actual rate
I personally love home
disabling highlight notifications seems to do it for me, but haven't tested very long. maybe try that?
I was just told by a staff member that you're right — it's per device at the moment — and they are going to move it to the backend so it's friendlier to multiplatform users such as yourself.
It will probably take a few weeks to get to it, but they're making the change. 🙂
What does this article cover?
What is Server Home?

Can you curate content?
How do I join the beta or leave feedba...
I didn't even know there was a home page
I like that it shows active channels, that's a real nice touch. Would it also be possible to show channels the user has been most active in? That way in cases like OP, they can quickly jump back into whatever channel they (most likely) left off in?
This is an interesting idea. I'll bring it up to the Discord folks and see what they think.
Maybe they can add a separate section called Recent Activity or Recent Conversations.
They have plans to do a lot more with Home. This is just the beginning.
That would be nice 🙂 They definitely have the room for it, that page has a lot of open space
Are you viewing it on a large display? Most people don't see all of that whitespace on the sides.
I was thinking they could add more widgets below Active Now.
Yeah, I'm in a similar boat, although I rarely maximize Discord.
I have 27" 4K displays.
In my experience, most people don't maximize Discord on desktop. I've seen a mix, but a lot of people keep it at the default size. I was surprised given how many servers people tend to join.
It would be cool if they expanded the layout when it's maximized on large displays, but I doubt they will.
If this is the "default size", still feels like a good amount of extra space that could be filled, to me at least.
All though that channel sidebar seems unnecessarily wide...
I see what you mean. It looks like the breakpoint for the responsive layout is a little too wide.
It switches to the vertical layout sooner than it should.
If it was a website I would say it's fine. Whitespace is great on a website. But in Discord, available space is usually maximized, so it looks off.
They should just let the user adjust the width :< Anyways, hopefully discord structures/expands the home page in a way that gives server moderators a lot of freedom with customizing it 🤞
I can't talk about everything they have planned, but they're definitely looking at doing quite a bit more with the Home tab.
Right now we as admins and mods have the ability to temporarily boost messages to the top of everyone's Home feed, hide messages, or even hide entire channels from ever showing up there.
So they're giving us the ability to curate to an extent.
Later on we'll have more control over what shows there. 🙂
I'm one of those people. Unmaximized (or snapped to a position) windows bug me in windows) not as much in linux, because I can set focus follows cursor and size windows easier in my preferred window manager). It's the overlaps and unused space.
