Petition to create a channel related to publishing and funding

I've dealt with my fair share of scummy investors and have raised a decent sum for my game before. In the process of raising capital, I've also met alot of amicable individuals and representatives from VCs and Publishing companies. I would like to see if there are any projects that can supported by way of introductions or referrals. This channel would NOT be used for crowdfunding but instead pitching to other people with the right network in this server. It would also serve as a great proxy for recruitment as people from this server would know that a project has some momentum and backing.

We've discussed it internally, but I'm afraid we came to the conclusion that the risk of it contributing to the spread and amplification of misinformation and the potential for abuse of it as a fishing ground for bad actors preying on inexperienced devs outweighed the potential benefits.

I get the misinformation but the job channels can just as easily be used as preying grounds for bad actors surely?

But also surely career chat could be used in the same way. In terms of abuse and misinformation.

Yea i can see how that could happen given that this server doesn't regulate who joins and someone could do something malicious under the radar. Get someone interested from the channel ->Dming will make the moderators helpless since all they can do is ban said malicious person
