This was a hit in another server I'm in: a deep work/study voice chat. People join up and study/work together like they're in a library. No talking, just silently sharing their status. The microphones are disabled. It sounds weird but people really seem to like showing when they're working, even if they have nothing to show.

That's not a bad idea. It's proven that some peeps can work better if they know someone is around. A working buddy basically. Especially for home office peeps that are used to be in the office this can be helpful to concentrate
We do this internally in our company by "always" being in voice calls even if no one talks. Not everyone is always there of course but it seems to help.

This is one of those things that seems strange to me, but I, too, have seen it work well in other communities. People seem to really enjoy it. Consider this idea under consideration.
