for compatibility reasons zip is the safe choice, since otherwise you don't know if they have 7z on their pc, even though they totally should 😃

I didn't touch anything, except getting rid of StaticLighting
Under Project Settings. Rendering, Lighting, you can actually remove all the static lighting
but I think it broke my sphere

the idea is you buy additional cars and enable self drive mode
then its a clicker game to keep them in service while you continue to drive to keep your bonus up
... it seemed a lot more fun in my head :)

Turns out when I remove the starter content from the build, it goes down to like 280mb unpackaged from 820mb

blacklist the StarterContent folder in Packaging settings
you could also just migrate your project into blank project if you wanted to take only parts you used
I have "Temp" folder which I blacklist
then I can do all kinds of testing under that
or not blacklist, I just exclude that

if you blacklist, things get cooked still, just ignored when putting them into pak

I'd want to make a vehicle game myself, almost did on one of the previous jams but editor kept just freezing on me and didn't feel like doing things blindly
usually themes just don't give me any ideas that would support that kind of gameplay
so far I've tried to do things that I don't usually do and end up not finishing
although even if I did vehicle physics, I'd still try something new there to lose my advantage with it 😄
im going to use the epic mega jam as my yearly "take a break from my main game to prototype one of those games in back of my head" phases

one of the big skillsets of jamming is knowing when to get things finalized in time to upload it...allar doent usually play games that are past the deadline in regular jams

I have this like, whole weapon system and shit for editing reload speed, fire rate, damage per bullet, etc....
and drone movement system with splines

Regular sculpting is there and that is what zb does best
It seems geared more towards 3d printing artists to me, it's lacking most of the game relevent stuff
I wish it had retopo and project tools but other than that, I mainly use same feats that are on core
though with it and 3dcoat you can get most of the way
3d coat is pretty chepa I think

ZRemesher is exception on some models though

My issues with zb tools are that if you get mesh issues of any kind, fixing them in traditional modeler is 100x faster

No box modeling but heard 3d painting is top notch there, can do pbr, retopo, sculpting

yea blender is hard to get into, where unreal moves the camera like fps blender can really annoy u
rotating around the vert u selected
now i mostly use numpad for camera
havent used modo yet either
but even my last tutor said modo is good for game dev

have only use 3d coat demo
i dont know where maya would beat blender, but i dont think im at that lvl anyways

i really suck at sculpt anyways i do it all in edit

edit is all good for me tho
just learn by reading books
about drawing
there isn't anything special if you know theory
you can't really do it without it
practice will only let you come up with theory in a long way

btw i love their event style. u get rated on char and tutorial
so there wil be good tutorials there when finished
prizes are pretty hefty, but if u think they get 50 tuts from good modellers thats worth way more

i downed the trail for that competition, the puppet mode looks good, dunno the pricing
If anything, learn how to actually model characters yourself. It will open up many doors for you
