Yeah, sometimes when I ask questions in appropriate channel it gets killed because someone spams or asks a question in like 10+ messages with a long ass code dump or something lol
Maybe we can have a real Unreal 'Slack' at some point
Awesome new art
Dat server logo though π―
@mint onyx what i'd do is that i'd re-ask the question several times while maybe attempting to answer simpler questions
it usually works
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Panzer Dragoon series, Saori Kobayashi, composer on the Saga and Orta titles, performed a piano acoustic session of some of the gamesβ soundtrack after a brief introduction to her creative approach.
As part of our Archipel Caravan serie...
i'm still undecided about buying an expensive ryzen or not... if it'd really help with the compiling or not
things like this make me wonder if an expensive ryzen could improve things in a significant way https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/713334/view.html
and then of course there's the benchmark mentioned in the same post https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=intel-coffee-8700k&num=3
it shows what are the most powerful processors but it's still a guess whether the improvement will be worth it when compiling UE4 c++
like... if it's only a 50% speed increase that's meaningless to me
Crap, I feel like I'm getting a fever
what do you mean by "jizz their pants" ?
you mean the more cores the better ? I'm unsure more cores or threads would help that much with c++ compiling
that's interesting tho
hah yes for some stuff more perf is good, it's great that at least shaders compiling is parallelizable in some way
sorry gtg by
c++ stuff is multithreaded as well, so more cores more fasterer
Threadpools ftw
Ahoy everyone, I like the new logo
needs more
Coming soon
Soonβ’οΈ
Pretty wild to think that the UE5 preview is months away.
π Party
Is the preview march?
How can i effectively learn unreal engine
by not getting advice from the ppl in this channel. π
Surprisingly astute advice, actually.
So you wont suggest me videos or books ? π¦
For me personally I learn best when I have a goal and find learning resources on the topics I need at the time to build my project, so for example think of a project you want to make and step by step look for tutorials on how to do it, you will learn Blueprints, the UI, and more quite effectively and you will get used to things a lot sooner... well in my experience that was the case, having a project as the base to your learning I find keeps you motivated and interested in learning π
Also try pretending that your entire life is a documentary of your struggle towards success. You get character motivation, moments of drama and frustration that all add to the story.
And when you get stuck, you think... "What would character me do?" and the answer is "get a terrible headache because he hasn't had any caffeine and days, lose the matching hand towel to a bath towel realizing that he absolutely hates the other set of towels."
I would suggest that you could learn most effectively with the proper advice but ... well, ykno
I have successfully solved what I needed to do next, now the next thing tomorrow, I hate only having barely an hour to do work each day π¦
It does mean you effectively have to break things down into tiny pieces... and that's one of the best ways to make progress.
that is very bad advice if you're doing a puzzle
Yep that's how I do it and it's how I'm figuring out c++, I have a linetrace shooting out the camera detecting the normal of an object, so tomorrow I'm gonna use it for a weapon pickup which is just attaching to component which should be pretty easy to figure out in c++ too
He is not wrong tho
Every complex system I ever needed to implement I always broke down into smaller parts/systems that connect together in the end and make up the whole thing, it's easier to think about and imagine how smaller parts are gonna work than the whole thing at once
Yeah it's the best thing you can do, and it makes everything make more sense I agree, best skill to learn
yeah, even drawing a "flowchart" (or whatever it's called) is a good idea if it helps you visualize things
I use a board site like Trello for that, I'll have a card with the end goal and under that I'll have the mini objectives, I like being organized
yeah^^
Stuff like that can help a ton
I also have 2 white boards, though I haven't used them in a long time lol
lol
That's a bad place for one lol
It actually hangs up above that being a problem
π
Am I seriously the only person who has good ideas in the shower?
I tend to do a lot of my problem solving in the shower when stummped, while at work or doing mundane things I always do coding in my head
The future of The Belt has begun as Marco Inaros wages Armageddon against the Inners for a lifetime of oppression and injustice.

Tomorrow is payday.
just read books ;p
@cursive crypt it has pretty damn scifi stuff along with pretty mundane believeable stuff
it's a bell pepper
isn't it a pumpkin?
I think it's a pumpkin
Pumpkins are not upside down like this. I think it is fireball. Or these candle lamps that fly. Or maybe a musical instrument, the one that are shaken with hand. Also could be a sunset.
Honestly, no clue what is.
Brave of you to think this is the back side of the pumpkin. Could be its front side.
I like risk
I like pie.
I saw a ghost shaped rocket with wings flying toward space, and the lower right part would be the flamme of the thruster
but I guess an upside down pumpkin makes more sense
(really neat anyway)
Microsoft will now allow employees to work from home freely for less than 50 percent of their working week
not REALLY permanent in the sense I'd take it π
but this doesn't make sense when they say they allow them to relocate to other countries even
I don't understand that article actually
, or for managers to approve permanent remote work.
hmm ok
I wonder what rate is it gonna be for acceptance tbh
A lot of managers are old school
obviously it has to be decided on a case to case basis, because not everyone can do it
by the time it is a question everyone worked remotely for like 1 year at least
Discord just erases typed messages if you use a GIF...great.
that's it :P
4 for me, not for microsoft tho π
oh actually I have met some of them twice, but most of them 0 or 1 times lol
Anyways, fuck in office work. Remote work is the future..had a few recruiters send me messages "Remote until after Covid". Yeah okay.
Working until after covid
office has its ups and downs
yeah office is a bit of a hit and miss... really depends
Office work is rarely necessary for most people, just unfortunately most people don't understand how to work without talking in somebody's face.
And some people aren't productive at home alone which is understandable.
companies being more flexible regarding remote work is definitely a positive thing
but the whole question is way more complicated than in-office sucks, remote is the future
Both are true π
I think it'll be interesting to see how VR and AR is going to affect this
You could already do a reasonable facsimile of a meeting in VR
of course the price of equipment, lack of real good software solutions etc. is a barrier
If you have an idea for an XR productivity app, you need to start working on it now. That's gonna be the next hot ticket for a while, especially when devices get better and companies start shelling out for them in place of/beside laptops.
Facebook already has/is working on all that virtual office stuff for the Quest 2
bam there you go millions in funding secured
oh sorry join.me is not the hotness anymore
zoom but for XR, there fixed
:D
it's still a bit too complicated at least with devices like Oculus Rift
Rift is great and "works", but it's not 100% reliable in the sense that sometimes you'll put the headset on, and everything's all fucky and you need to reconfigure everything
which is a no go for something like this imo
plus it's very location dependent unlike the Quest 2 and such
Besides using my Vive for making some games earlier this year I had not used it since a few months after I bought it at launch. Once I took the base stations down I didn't wanna mess with them again.
VR needs lower price, no extra tracking hardware, and full wireless to become mainstream. Too bad the Quest 2 is tied into Facebook's ecosystem of garbage, it definitely hits most of the points.
lol, two different vendors, almost the same material. Who took from who? Maybe both took from a 3rd person π
3DRealms / Slipgate Ironworks is hiring a UE4 programmer π€
hehe nice vfx
No. I kinda prefer more generalists work. Being a dev is like tools, tools and tools.
If my skills were better in C++ I would apply for something like that, I am getting more confident though the more I do it
my C++ is rusty as fuck but I'd still apply
Go apply. ++c is not to learn in few months anyway.
but the timing's not quite right otherwise
Yeah, if you know programming in general even if your C++ was rusty, I'd say apply
"rust" next to "c++" word, blasphemy
lol
I've learned C++ before and decent at it, I'm just practicing the UE specific stuff and learning how to make my game with it
I made my complicated combat system in all C++ so that made me happy, my next step is picking up weapon and throwing, I did the linetrace last night so not too much else to get a pickup hopefully
Go apply dude, what you have to loose? Show them who you are and what you do.
You gonna learn these and more while you work too.
ofc, I'm talking in general. No clue about that company.
I just assume companies want people who can do it well right off the bat
π€·ββοΈ depends on the position and the company. Some want just a small help (lower expenses), other want more.
The jobs I find around me mostly want senior, it's hard to find junior positions, but these days most companies are doing remote work so that does bring more opportunities to me as I live in the middle of nowhere
Companies want people who are willing (and able) to learn and solve problems. The ability to Google & work through tough problems > knowing the ins & outs of specific languages.
Plus you've gotta apply + interview to know where your weaknesses lie anyways. π Your own self assessment may or may not be your reality.
Damn I'm good at finding problems through google and problem solve my own issues, I have bad assumptions, I always feel like I'm not employable because I didn't go to school and I'm self taught, and hadn't worked professionally before, but I am confident when I work on my personal projects
I know it's hard though, and I'm just nervous of actually going through with it
stuff you'd do at work is probably going to be much easier and much worse than what you do in your own projects anyway lol
Degrees are only really a replacement for experience to get your foot in the door, most people don't care if you're self taught as long as you're confident you know what you're doing + can learn & can display that in an interview.
I'm a perfectionist in my own projects, and I tend to do the hardest games I can think of haha like I'm making a first person Demon;s Souls inspired game with layered directional combat, it's fun working on hard stuff though
Ayy got my linetrace to correctly work with only actors with a tag, progress!!
After doing Blueprints for 6 years, I feel like C++ is easier lol
Off to work, have a good day everyone
π

@bronze axle we were discussing earlier, what is that new logo? Is it a rotated pumpkin, or it is fireball? Or it is lamp, or it is flashlight, or...
@cursive crypt It's a pumpkin rotated to match the orientation of the original logo.
looks way better than the old one though so just keep it after
hmm... there we go with the conspiracy theories.
@alpine fern nah, it looks like roasted chicken with cucumber
I debated whether or not to rotate the pumpkin. There will be confusion either way, so I stuck with it.
why would you put garbage in your roasted chicken?
I'm amused by all the alternative interpretations. π
Its fine, we discuss now is that the back of the pumpkin or its front.
Well... you want stuffed chicken
someone quick make an Asteroids clone with the pumpkin logo as the ship
I see a top down view of a red frog, next morning after Halloween party in the logo.
Why
@zinc matrix Hah, that's awesome. Did you just make that? π
I love it. But... is it made in Unreal? π
(β―Β°β‘Β°οΌβ―οΈ΅ β»ββ»
In all seriousness, that made me smile.
I.... didn't understand the orientation of the pumpkin until you directly compared the two logos. I still wanna believe in rocket powered bats.

I.... didn't understand the orientation of the pumpkin until you directly compared the two logos. I still wanna believe in rocket powered bats.
@real palm It's a funny interpretation since the beta for UE4 was codenamed "Rocket". π
Quite

lol, a guy on my facebook was saying you need to shut down your computer to give it a break regularly, he's seen clients with machines that have an uptime of almost a month
me:
20:13:48 up 353 days, 19:51, 14 users, load average: 0.00, 0.02, 0.00
π€
I think I had like a 700 day uptime on my home server back when I still had one lol
tbh the only reason my server doesn't have a bigger uptime than a year right now is because Linode occasionally does upgrades due to security reasons
the only reason I'd shut mine down is I really need to dust off the front fan grille
its like a carpet
I reboot mine because I actually install software updates
There's an EULA on Intel stickers that come with their CPUs
so if you affix the Intel sticker into an AMD powered PC, Intel I guess can sue you
I'm affixing my intel sticker to a random non-electronic personal item. If they even find out I would not even be mad being served that suit
@zinc matrix "A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyse a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."
Burn specializing!
I have only two points not yet completed on the list above.
And the second one is manure. I don't have a person around, whom angered me enough to have manure pitched at him.

Hello friends πββοΈ
What is going on in the voice channels lately? I remembered them pretty empty
ayo guys 2 months into the whole apple-epic case thing, what's your stance on it
Haha I thought about it since a while @zinc matrix, I just don't want to interrupt anything
Is there a limit actually?
Not that we need too worry about
Imagine if even just 10% of online people would join
It's easy if you try
Unless he's set a limit on it it's like 100 simultaneous users per voice channel by default.
hindsight is 20/20; tldr: epic is bad but not so bad
if u wanna read it:

Ugh... found a map breaking memory leak and bug with world comp and while I think I found a work around it requires manually loading each and every sub level one at a time, resaving it, unloading it and then moving on to the next one. This is very tedious.
Just in the editor part or is that a runtime thing too?
It completely keeps the map from loading. Just starts devouring memory until it has none left to eat.
Packaging might fix it the same way I'm fixing it by manually loading/unloading each sub level. Idk though. Now that I think I know what causes it I'm going to change some things in how i do it to avoid it or make it easier to fix when needed.
I need to search and see if anyone else has had the same issue.
I think this fixed the level. It just went from eating up 60GB of ram to 12GB.
It still feels strange to talk about ram in GBs
You could always use GiB instead.
I've spent more time with ram being like 32MB max than with 32GB being common.
Ah, remember the good ol' days of having to socket individual chips?
Manual switches for IRQs
or having to right them all down so I could manually enter the IRQs to install Linux
Clearly should have used BeOS instead
huh, never heard of that one
How are we even complaining about tech nowadays
I don't think that I used Linux early enough to have to deal with any kind of IRQ shit
There have been so many distros that not even god knows.
yeah, I can't remember what it was Red hat wasn't out then
Slackware was a pretty early one. Suse I'm not exactly sure when it came around but it coexisted
Maybe, I did use Slackware a lot. Idk when though that was a long time ago. Gentoo was another.
Yeah. I compiled gentoo on a lot of things.
Slackware, Gentoo, Red Hat and Debian have been the main ones I've used. Every now and then I go on a spree of trying out distros though.
Haven't used Red Hat since it split into Fedora though.
I just don't have the time for it lately though.
I used to use CentOS 7 which is basically just RHEL without the RedHat shit in it.
There was another BSD based one i use to like.
Right now I'd probably use Mint if I was going to run anything
Now it's debian on my VM hosts and guests, opnsense for routing, and GalliumOS on my Chromebook... which is downstream from Ubuntu but somehow manages not to pull in some of the dumb shit Canonical throw in
I like their XFCE one
Yeah, Mint is Debian based. It's easier to find packages for Debian than others.
I never liked Ubuntu. I'm not hardcore about open software which is why I like using Debian but Ubuntu with its built in market stuff is too much
I just do straight up debian with backports and updates
Mint's like a compromise between Debian and Ubuntu
Like back when flash was more prevalent Debian would make you look elsewhere for the packages, Mint would just give you the option to choose to install it
Same thing with proprietary drivers.
that's why most people add the contrib and non-free repo
It use to be more painful than it is today. Today Linux is pretty close to windows, if not better, for ease of installation and use.
I wish we could use a pressure sensitive brush to paint foliage and landscape layers
I seem to recall that being a requested feature about five years ago
for DE i like KDE the best
If I had to use a DE for anything more than a web browser and a terminal, I might use something heavier than XFCE
finally weekend, two full days of game joyvelopment ahead. lol
i3 best DE
eh
kde looks cool, but is heavy. And I will never forget the horror when I looked at the code of one of their apps.
So, gnome guy. In fact if there is terminal and quick launch with some applet for system settings I'm fine.
@mint onyx am a hd700 user. First opened cans I ever had and I think it is totally worth it. Few times I even mistook from where is the sound, from the hp or from outside? lol. Too bad they are capricious for maintenance/cleaning. I already replaced the cable after 2 years.
I'm probably going to sell my headphone after switching to speakers lol
huh, why not headphones?
after listened to my speakers they just sound much better
lol, well if their comparable quality. And you have the hardware to run them, or the place to put them :)
But headphones bring privacy when needed, also talking about the hardware and space... they don't have so much of that problem.
yep privacy the primary reason i still pull out my headphone time to time
mhm... My neighbors are 30 m away from me, but if I put a speakers... not gonna save them.
@light spruce such headphones have the best surround, they will not have that 'oompf' factor tho. Depends what you look for.
No. They don't.
for ppl want to start with speakers i would recommend Genelecs; get a subwoofer if you are choosing models with <5" drivers
Heard good things about them. But I tend a bit toward stereo towers. My position in the room is kind of too biased. Or were you talking about stereo too?
π€no experience with towers; nowadays DSP room correction seems a trend, maybe that'll help with your problem
hmm... will check π€
Anyway, not going there yet, as I will need an amp too and that whole another can of worms π
active speakers have amps builtin; some speakers like Genelec convert all analog input signal to digital to apply DSP and then convert back; they dont want to mess with typical hifi woodoosπ
Oh, they were active ones. Will keep in mind. π
I'm bit fan on composites, so I have a dac and pre-amp already, just need the end step.

Goodmorning everyone
Yesterday I applied to a job in the game industry, first time of the year
Who with?
Rockstar Toronto
They're actually in a town further away but it'd be worth the commute, about 1 hr 20 min, but I applied because I'm feeling a bit more confident since the chatting here π
I doubt I'll get it, but it's a good step anyway
Do you have a good portfolio?
I have a small portfolio
As long as it shows off your strengths via your own creations π
I think they do, 2 are sculpts I did in zbrush, another is a logo I did using Blender box modeling and photoshop, and a realistic tree I did in blender, and I think a vehicle and something else I don't remember off the top of my head
Over the last while I've focused on programming, it'd be cool to do gameplay programming
if you applied to a programming position you'd probably wanna showcase any game projects you've done or such
Yeah, I have like a million prototypes but lack of animations make them look not great
Or my poopy animations make it look bad lol
it probably doesn't matter that much as long as it demonstrates ability to do programming
you can balance it with showing some of the design work
Most of what I have is done to show off is in UE blueprints not so much in code, I am confident with unity C# but I always have a hard time with player movement, anything else I can do, in UE C++ I'm getting there
Yeah I mean as long as it shows you've got the skills you claim you have :)
BP's is programming too, it works based on exactly the same principles as text-based languages
Yeah I actually find text based programming easier, but I just use artstation, I have a bunch of prototypes I've made on my youtube, I guess I should link that in my linkedin too
It's the brain work that matters
I think my resume mostly just listed all the random projects I made that I thought were most interesting/impressive/relevant
(not in gamedev tho)
nowadays I don't really link my projects since I have tons of work experience, but I still link my blog and if any random other thing might be relevant
I don't have a proper resume, the only things on my resume is retail and cooking, I'm desperate to get a job doing anything related to games, in the game industry
yeah I mean if you make a resume then you'd just list all the cool projects you've done as relevant experience
doesn't matter if they're incomplete as long as it's relevant
My current job doesn't support me doing any side things and so I only have like 3-4 hours a week to work on anything :(
Oh I applied to rockstar without a resume but my linkedin that I applied from shows what my experiences are
I just want to setup a linkedin that includes nothing but shit like World of Warcraft raids
lol
Instead of Wow raids just say Wow QA lol
Fuck no. I'd put down Bethesda games for that
I added my youtube link to my About section of my linkedin as "Programming Showcase"
Nvm found a section for it lol
My youtube link shows my profile picture that is Kermit covered in blood... why can't I remove the picture from the linkedin reference lol
Owell it adds character
Since I don't have resume I hope my showcase does it instead
I don't think I'll ever get hired π lol
But did you know that when it snows my eyes become large and the light that you shine can be seen?
"I don't have a resume" is a bit of a bad excuse imo
you know you can just make one?
lol
I have nothing to put on there that is relevant
You put your skills and projects
The point isn't to tell them "I worked at this and this company"
the point is to tell them "here's why I can do this job"
My school did a shit job teaching us how to do resumes then lol
yeah they tend to do that
:D
I think a lot of the advice for resumes is okay.. it's not technically wrong
but ultimately the goal is to convince the employer that you're the guy they need
enough at least to get you to the interview
well I have no idea how to write such a resume lol
You need buzzword compliance to get past the HR filter.
Then you need something that shows someone you might actually be useful.
well, you can look at what sorta stuff the company does and then try to extrapolate from there
so if you're applying to programming positions, you explain why you can solve the programming problems they might have
list your knowledge in different programming languages and tools, list projects like "I built X using langs X, Y and Z with tech X. It does complex thing A B and C which I solved with so and so"
I could explain the things I did in tools and languages, but I don't really know how to explain how I solved problems, I just kinda do it that's it lol
yeah I mean you can put a short description of what the method you use to solve it was
Okay. Hard truth then: You will have a shit time.
Like at school I was never able to "show my work" in math class , because I just don't know how to visually show or explain how I just figured it out in my head
eg. "The game has NPC's which I built using Unreal's Behavior Trees and custom behavior tree decorators" or something along those lines
The absolute best thing you can be able to do is communicate how you did something
Okay, I mean that probably explains why I haven't got far in life lol
You got this far. Thats further than some
You don't need to really show or explain how you figured something out in your head in a resume
You just give a description of what it does
You can just look at your code and give a high level description of that :)
"The game uses markov chain to generate video titles"
When asked how I worked out my code I reply "Fucked if I know Bubba. Fucked if I know"
is a pretty decent description of a potentially interesting thing
Okay, and it doesn't really matter on a specific format, just kinda write a header and description with a paragraph to sumarize each experience?
Lol
Yep
Think of it this way... the person who reads your resume is looking for a reason to get you to the interview
Okay, I'll start working on one, I actually don't work until this afternoon so I have a little while
So you need to think of how you'd convince this person you can solve problems for them
That part comes out as knowing how to explain what problem you were trying to solve and generally how you solved it... not necessarily the exact process. But how you work through problems is going to come up at some point... so being able to communicate that is critical.
Usually a decent way to do it is by talking about complex things you've done
Being able to explain vocally is much easier than writing for me
Yeah so just talk it out by yourself
and make notes of it
and then summarize it in text
heard that one somewhere
Just list everywhere you worked and write after it "Details under NDA" and if they ask about it, pull out a pistol and start screwing on a silencer.
I've worked at grocery stores and resteraunts, NDA aren't shit there lol
I'm not allowed to divulge how much a block of cheese costs
im kinda curious now how much ppl lie on their resume
non-dairy apples. Simple.
Actually that can be true because Ive never worked in dairy
I dont lie on my resume. But there is one job where I wasn't allowed to discuss what I did for national security reasons so it looks like I refuse to talk about it π
A lot. Though a large portion don't pull it off.
Okay Johnny English lol
hey these false flag terrorist events don't organise themselves you know
You ever see Ice giants walking around? Youre welcome
Power lines are up for the trolls
I have been interviewing several people for dev work. It is always clear when the over-present themselves. It is the actual interview that follows where everything shines.
I've covered so many areas in computing since I started that I should just have a freaking search engine textbox on my resume.
But you have to get there.
i.e. and if you lied, still no chance.
I never lie. I only use tact, which is a form of socially acceptable lying.
It's not that binary
I usually under-present myself
That acceptable yeah. Also interesting is, it does not matter whether you can solve a particular problem. What matters is your process.
That what I think and my colleagues with whom we do interviews think.
I have a good process, like beating up a brick, break off one small piece at a time until you glued it back together
I think I went one way and reversed it in that analogy but that's okay lol
I always feel I do great during interviews. I have fake confidence, enough skills to back it up, I can talk up whatever they ask (or else why would I be there?). But sometimes it doesn't matter if you do the perfect interview. Sometimes you just don't look the part in the eyes of the interviewer.
"This resume is about me and why I'm great"
I'm always full of anxiety during interviews so I'm usually quiet and timid, but I've never got an interview for a game studio yet, I've only applied 12 times over the last 5 years though
maybe 20
Oddly enough I suffer from anxiety on a daily basis, but in an interview I can stride past it
the only time I cannot is a coding test. That will cripple me
fake it til you make it
Pretty much.
Be fake!
- new age logo
The thing I hope is instead of asking what my skills are someone would just give me a challenge and hire me based on that lol
Thats how I started out in game dev
I work better when I'm put under pressure
and also half a mil of klonopin before you go into an interview
Well, you can spend the night in the office always.
I work in my bedroom 1 hour a day, and spend the rest of the day serving people who treat me like π© while getting min wage not being able to afford anything lol
The American Dream
Luckily I'm not american lol
I'm getting older I need a change badly, I need my foot in the door, and my game is still years off from release if work keeps giving me all the hours and give my co workers 1 day a week
I spend 10 hours or so in my office not doing anything right now because I have 5 kids running around me, shouting, shitting and making it impossible to get anything done. So I wait until they goto sleep and get perhaps 2 hours done. I need to really get the fuck out of this place.
I like the resume/cv/jobsearch advice from Ramit https://www.iwillteachyoutoberich.com/blog/why-my-resume-got-me-a-job-offer-at-google/
Instead of taking a shower and working on the building plans for the new place, I'm sitting here playing a guitar, waiting on the roof to leak, and wondering if the power will go out mid-shower or not
a lot of his advice is a bit different from the usual nonsense you hear
but it makes a ton of sense
Just walk in, slam half ounce of coke on the table, say "there's more where this came from" as your private jet flies back to Columbia.
Be assertive like zucchini?
It might not get you the job you wanted, but upper middle management will hire you in a heartbeat.
I was expecting "hose it down with some Old Spice and put some beef jerky in there"
Then I remembered no one mails anything anymore.
It's helpful to know that resumes get like 10 seconds of read time, so gotta put more impressive thing at the top
boobs helps
Depends on the job
I think the 10 seconds is probably kind of made up, but it drives home the point
if there's a lot of resumes you have to get the attention
At the top of my resume I add the line "Stay tuned until the end of this resume for a chance to win fuck all"
lol
If it is a bit bigger company you have just your green hr interims who do the first filter. They know nothing about the job, just perform keyword matching.
Re: buzzword compliance
It really is the joy of competing issues. You need the bullshit to get past the first layer and then you need to have enough not bullshit for the next layer to give a shit.
Best way is if you can skip the first layer altogether by networking
This is my networking lol
most people won't mind telling you who to email directly or reference you directly if you ask them as long as you know them at least a little bit
It's unfortunately a lot harder to crash some conference party these days... since they don't exist
Crash zoom calls
lol
yeah... little bit harder to catch somebody at the Zoom call bar
you can stalk people on LinkedIn
"hey could I ask you what it's like to work at <place of employment>, I was thinking of applying"
or something
I'm always nervous to connect with people I don't know on linkedin
"It fucking sucks and since I work from home now I don't even get free Mountain Dew anymore."
Dont do networking on Twitter whatever you do. It's fine for making aquaintances who want people to advertise their products or ego at, but in terms of networking for work purposes, it has never once gotten me any work.
You do see a lot of jobs on there if you setup for it. I guess my volume of work applied for on there is a small test case, but still... horrid place. Horrid.
If you can sort of "naturally" connect on twitter to someone in the industry, you could potentially ask them in DM's about something
but it's probably a bit more difficult to reach out directly unless you've talked with them a bit before
Oddly, just read how a guy got a job because of Twitter
yeah I probably overshot my experience a little for a generalisation
I just don't get much use out of it. It causes more stress than money.
It doesn't help when people are there to make you look shit on purpose either. So every single comment is taken out of context or used against you in a kangaroo court of lawlessness.
If I had to choose between using twitter or facebook, I'd get matches and a can of gasoline.
just don't talk to or follow people who are like that Marc
I just unfollow everyone who's like that and miraculously my twitter experience is tolerable now
It doesn't matter. I was having a discussion one day and some trumped up tart from Insomnia Games decided to make it her mission to make me a child molester and sex offender. Insomnia wont even speak to me about it even though I've gone through the hoops. It fucking burns me.
...what on earth were you talking about if she did that?
I saw a picture of a 17 year old girl and a 24 year old male (Australians) who were married. The comments below were all calling it grooming and I said they look happy to me, it's not grooming (they were married in a country where 16 is the age of consent).
But no.... apparently I am now a paedo, and, I quote "young girls should stay away from him".
Im 44, married for 8 years with 5 kids and my wife is 9 years younger than me. But yeah....
ur wife is 9 years ouch
oh nvm
inappropriate mind melt moment. I keep having these micro-blackouts when I type.
I just don't bother commenting on things like that :P
Anything that generates drama in comments -> yeah just don't
Well they were bullying the couple and I don't stand by when I see bullying. I call them out.
its in my nature
The irony.
yeah I mean it's good to do that but twitter is a bad platform for something especially if it's a touchy subject
absolutely respond if it's something slightly less touchy
lol
whats touchy about it though? 17 and married. It's a no brainer to me.
These US folk are indoctrinated to presume you aren't an adult until 21 though.
it's not like that everywhere so you're likely to get crazies like that
yeah it was mostly US folks
and at that point the best course of action is to just block the crazy person
Well, when someone with 7.5k followers, at a prominent game studio announces you are a paedophile (or rather ephebophile in this case) what do you do?
I had over 1k likes from my comment. But as many insults.
What really bugs me about it is I contacted Insomnia 4 times. Even tried to connect with the head of the HR department on Linkedin because nobody was responding.
This tweet is still up there. This twat is trying to take food out of the mouths of my children for a comment I was completely justified in making. It's literally making me depressed and weepy. As soft as that sounds. I've had nightmares about it. I am now lost as to what to do. This was 3 months or so ago and I'm still fucking angry about it.
well tbh
I think profession and public opinion should stay separate, otherwise you can easily get in trouble
I have no money for legal help
Yeah I don't know how it works over there but it sounds pretty clear cut so I'd imagine someone might take it even if you can't pay ridiculous sums of money for it
You could probably at least get a consultation on it for mostly free
at which point your message to Insomnia suddenly has a lot more weight when a lawyer penned it
I tell you now.... this might sound like I should just get over it and get past it, but it's killed my motivation to do anything in game dev. I don't even know if I want to carry on.
if I ended up working with that class of people, I would rather shovel shit.
That's the problem with twitter drama tbh
it aint only gamedev that suffers from hr sorting thru ur facebook
For some reason the human mind immediately connects it on a very personal level like this
and then immediately also generalizes it to the whole group of people
even if it's just some rando who's lost their mind spouting bs
my cathartic process is to insult the person then block them, never to hear from them again, but this is something else.
I dont want to be this angry. I'm angry enough on a daily basis at the state of the world, but when my escape (gamedev) is part of the problem, Im just not sure anymore.
anyway im gonna go cheer myself up with a huge hit on a bong. Fuck it.
have fun
:D
Honestly I'd also maybe consider taking it to police
since slander is a crime
that shouldn't cost you a penny.
I think the one thing you can take comfort in is that if this twitter problem results in actual damage to you, eg. loss of job or something, at that point you definitely have a criminal case against them.
a libel suit isn't quite that easy
it seems fairly clear at this point based on what he said
at least it would get the ball rolling if it becomes a problem
In most places it'd be civil, so you would have to file a suit yourself and prove that defamation
in the US, it'd be defamation per se so at least you don't have to prove damages
frankly I doubt it's gonna be a problem for Marc if it's been months since then
but at least some level of comfort knowing he could take action on it if needed
if it was gonna be a problem it would have been a problem by now
you can always take civil action, assuming you have the money to do it
I couldn't believe that Musk managed to skate on his, but he did
huh?
slang usage "'pedo guy' was a common insult used in South Africa
lol what a fucking thing to say
this is like.. "yeah it was okay to use the n word when I was growing up"
He probably greased the wheels of justice to get out of that... I wouldn't be surprised
no one wants anything to do with being a jury in a civil case
the american legal system is all kinds of fucky tbh
the whole idea of picking randos for jury duty ???
it's... slightly more nuanced than that
I mean probably, but it's still pretty fucky lol
I don't want to take them to court tbh. What's the point? Some corp loses money and the person remains vile enough to do such things at the cost of others? Makes no sense. Taking the person directly to court? Civil case, takes years, costs loads, no legal aid, not worth it for a fake apology at the end of it all.
When you're a defendant you can opt for a bench trial
Since my six weeks of insomnia has started, I'm going to go try not to fall asleep in the shower.
If you do just make sure you fall laying on your side so you dont drown
Don't sleep in the tub kids
My uncle died in the bath. He was bitten by a Tsetsi fly when he was abroad and it gave him narcolepsy. I always get paranoid about having a bath when im tired now.
Sorry to hear that, I'm always paranoid of baths, I almost drown as an infant, I haven't had a bath since I was like 13, not that I can fit in a tub anyway I'm very long
here's some finnish innovation for ya https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIK4k1pHTo8

Damn that's pretty clever
@lone grail I drowned when I was 4. It was ironically one of the most peaceful things once you submit to it. I was lucky enough that someone saw me and fished me out of the lake. I remember watching Trainspotting where he is swimming out of the toilet and thinking "thats exactly like the light I saw as I sank"
Dang, I've heard stories like that when people are near death or die for a moment and it's the most peaceful and relaxing feeling which does sorta make sense. I'm too stubborn to give in lol, I'm terrified of going in water chest high, it gives me panic attacks, though my gf want to help me get better at swimming once covid is over and I agreed to it, might be fun
I would go swimming but it would have to be in my own pool. I don't like being in the ocean. It's not my domain at all. I wouldn't go to a public baths either. I'd rather not swim in other people's psoriasis and piss
I know my piss isn't syphillated which is a bonus π
Lol, I'm about to start my resume but unsure how to start
"Hi I'm Adam, my piss is not syphillated"
I'm not applying to be bear grills partner here
then I would recommend an alternative π
"Hi, I don't know who I am anymore. So I am applying for this job in the hopes it gives me some identity in the faceless workforce. Also I can't work mondays" π
honestly I don't really know what to write either except what I know. I could write my life story but it's a bit long winded and nobody cares about more than a few years ago anyway
My life story is boring as shit lol
Most people don't even find me making games that interesting
mine is probably interesting to a psychologist, but it's not a fun story.
what ifyou cant go to store, cant came games is it more boring?
I work at a grocery store so if I can't go to a store It would be less boring
Work on mygame all day everyday lol
Part of my resume consists of being sat in a room for 10 years studying everything I could about computing from networking, webdev, game dev, ethical hacking, SEO (unethical hacking heh), and funnily enough, geo-politics and economics.
The last 10 years for me consist of being a cook, working retail in 2 different places, and learning / doing game dev for 7 of them by myself
I learnt html5 one day but got bored and left it
being unemployed over 10years
Are you a student?
I quit webdev when HTML5 hit the mainstream. But I just started to learn it properly because I need to do something and my gamedev progress stalled 3 months ago.
i havent being a student after 2008
I left college in 2002 but I was working 3 jobs there so I carried on for bit longer
kinda feel old now
I went to college late too. I was a musician for some years before that
my question is how can you do anything at all with 5 kids..blows my mind
I try wake up at midnight
I worked 2 jobs once, after working 18 hour days 6 days a week I swore to never do it again, fucking rough doing 8 hour retail and then 10 hour cooking shifts back to back was a nightmare
mine was pretty easy tbh. All 3 were part time. Tutoring for learning support, IT grunt fixing issues and for a time I ran the non-server side of the networking department whilst the team lead was sick
Those jobs sound nice, I feel forever trapped in shit min wage retail jobs, I feel like walking out about 4 days of the week lol just can't do it anymore, My birthday was the first of my 8 day stretch and, today day 5 and just wanna collapse
It was ok at first but the politics is just like any other job. If you don't fit the mould (which I rarely do) then people treat you with disdain. Like I used to be a busy body. Always trying to learn new ways to improve the network. They didn't like that. It was more work for them. They also didn't take to the fact I didn't slack off every Friday when they went to the pub. Not my fault I expect to work when im in a job but hey.
Eventually I was passed over for promotion to a kid who was kicked off his course for getting caught hacking the network. After all the work I had put in, plus I did the most perfect IT interview in history, I lost the will to do it and became a web developer instead, specialising in Flash/sql/php
I'd be screwed now if I had to go get a retail job. I'd probably end up like Brooks from The Shawkshank Redemption.
Sounds like my job except convert to retail lol, I'm always running around getting shit done and I'm the one getting picked on, and making me feel like I'm doing a worse job than the useless employees that barely do anything, I work circles around people and get harassed for it
yeah you would think that would be appreciate in IT circles too. I mean, one of the plans I had was a centralised image server for re-imaging workstations that would have saved thousands of trips around campus to put a floppy disk in a workstation and set it going. Literally would have let them sit on their arse for most of the day as that was usually the response to a failing PC. Just re-image it.
if I had been there longer, perhaps I would have been justified in a way as it lead to setting up virtual machines instead. Who knows. These people were wide-eyed at BO2k of all things so I didn't expect much.
I wrote the first paragraph of my resume explaining a combat system I made in UE4, basically I explained what it does then used the rest to explain how I did it, is that a good way to do it?
need nudes for reference
What?
Okay, I'm just trying to figure out how to write this resume before I go to work, so I can apply for work while at work lol
Dude, you are kind of anxious aint you? I think I can understand, but after so much interviews... nothing special. You will do fine. When you get some experience there will be ground for improving. Wish you luck.
Thanks, getting that experience is the tricky part, getting my foot in the door, I was gonna write a paragraph explaining each of my top 2 projects then the rest explain what I'm currently working on and skills I'm working on improving, I just wanted to know if that sounded like a good way to go about writing it
That's to accompany your cv? You can, yea, sure.
What's a cv?
How you are exactly applying?
Through LinkedIn
hmm... I suppose they do that for you then.
tbh, never did something through that system. Kind of.
Then I guess your profile is up to date. But you want to send additional letter too?
Nudes as anatomy references, I assume? (:
My profile is up to date though I don't have a whole lot to put on there, I was told to do a resume thing to kinda show what I've done as personal projects and show I am employable i guess
Well, I happen to have tens of thousands of them. Both male and female. :D
lol, need micro details. in fact even one will do on this stage.
What is an example of a micro detail?
A skin pore level close-up? There are also many different types of pores, for different areas of the body. Mostly neutral and directional ones.
Mhm, yea. something neutral will do on first step, depending on the evaluation might need more. So, do you know a place?
I've done character work but never bothered with pores in texture design, looks super tedious
But I don't really have specific references for those, except maybe some images can be high resolution enough to zoom and see.
But in general 3D.sk has great references.
Yeah, I'm just diggin around currently. So ideas. Gonna check them out π
Ah, yes... was looking at this one.
Another great one is Surface Mimic site, but those are for actual use as sculpting/texturing, not references per se.
Also, Substance Source has tileable micro skin details/materials, but they're not references either.
Yeah... I think there are enough texture sources. Gonna dig around. Thanks.
@cold mason working on character shaders. I got something done, but don't like it and I want to experiment around.
Oh, cool. (:
Hmm... maybe I can ask my ex for a photo session π‘ but she might not understand π€
lol
Depending on what kind of references you need from her, lol.
Skin really
That 3dsk is not so bad... found few nudes, might be able to assemble something from the tens of pictures.
Glad you found something useful.
kudos to all these ppl showing up over there, lol. There is variety.
3D.sk's references are something I use from time to time, but mostly I use anatomy books, 3D scans, Γ©corchΓ©s etc.
Lol
I have a nice book over here, but is kinda painted, lol. 3d scans, if you have - ofc. But on that site there are many too.
Imagine convincing your boss, you need that premium for ph - for research purposes
Tbh, I'd rather work remotely if it comes to working on nude base bodies of characters. :D
Why? Well, I'm mostly remote anyway. Tbh, my ex sometimes bathes an eye on my char work for her own amusement.
I tend to look at A LOT of anatomy references to get things right on my sculpts.
After work tonight or before work tomorrow I'll apply to a bunch of places using that resume, fingers crossed people are impressed lol
Your portfolio is the one that matters the most though.
I have one of those too
"One of those too". That should be the primary concern.
Yeah I set it up long ago so it's fine
it's updated dont worry
It's small but shows all different sorts of work
Just curious, can we see your portfolio?
I know everyone would say it's shit
how come
It usually happens, I don't usually show many people my work
tbh you sound a lot like a friend of mine who's a self learned artist / vfx guy
he was like nah man I'm never gonna get a job
looking at his stuff is like okay yeah this is some pro level stuff
https://www.artstation.com/adamdrysdale
Okay take a look
Thanks, that one I did off a whim because I'm bad at 2d art so I messed around with vector art after seeing Firewatch art lol
What kind of job you're trying to apply to? A game studio?
Yeah a game studio, pretty much anything in a game studio
yeah it definitely reminded me of Firewatch :)
I just really want my foot in the door with something I can replace my current job
Oh that's good to hear π
I have my youtube linked on my linkedin as well to show functional things I did with programming, but it's just projects I've worked on and abandoned but they still show work
Well, first you need to do fully finished, optimized and textured low poly game assets. With high poly models you've baked normals, ao, curvature etc. Materialized, textured, posed, lighted and rendered (real-time rendering such as UE4, Unity or Marmoset Toolbag) them.
I know, I just have focused more on working on my games than the art side because I've been trying to make my own indie games but it's just I haven't done anything recently for the portfolio because it's just recently I wanted a job because my current job is being shite and giving me no time away from work to do anything so I haven't even had the time to do any art at all, for the forseeable future I'm stuck with what I got
I gotta get to work though, cya guys thanks for the input
I found an old CV of mine where I've actually listed talking on servers like this as an item lol
under "Mentoring"
because frankly, that is what helping others on platforms like this is
just an unorthodox idea you can put into your CV :D
Lol
I hate to say this, but with that portoflio, you're gonna have very slim chances to get a job in the game industry. :/
I know I probably wont get anything but I need to try or I dunno I feel stuck and done
No matter the resume, CV or previous work experience.
which is fuck all lol
It sorta depends on how his game projects look like tbh
just needs more stuff imo. Finished stuff, aka game-ready assets.
Not all gamedev roles need you to be some kind of gfx guru imo
I know my gfx skills is fuckall but I can code :P
Yeah I might do more props and items focused around box modeling I might have time for that
I'd recommend becoming a 3D prop artist. Start making props, but with a proper pipeline. (;
My pipeline is usually model in blender then put into Ue4 lol
But gonna be late for work, so gotta get going
That's fine. You can create HP, LP, UV unwrap the LP and even bake in Blender, and maybe texture it elsewhere, like in Substance Painter.
telephone asset I made for my game lol
I probably could make it look better, but frankly it won't make the game any more complete, so that will do for now :D
I want to get substance Painter, so I guess this is a good excuse lol
ngl ive seen good stylized textures done in blender, but it's just a quicker and non-destructive workflow in substance. Especially if you need realistic results.
I did an acoustic guitar's high poly earlier this year. I'll give it to one of my character projects.
who needs normal maps
We need them for game assets... still for now. :D
im thinking how much overhead a normalmap is sometimes
cuz some assets can surely go without
With carefully face weighted vertex normals you can go a somewhat long way without normal maps.
this is by far the most cursed thing i have made
See more on Twitter: https://twitter.com/CoreyLaddo
the thing that made him talk
Anyway, this quick visit of mine to this discord was kind of "semi-goodbye" to Unreal Engine, because I'll switch to Marmoset Toolbag 4 when it comes out. π
ouch
Thanks.
Oh, nice. Ukulele. (:
That'd probably work in future, in UE5 or something, lol.
Why not actually optimizing it though?
Apparently UE5's Nanite is only for static meshes, raw dyntopo-sculpted characters are out of luck lol
I'm anal about great optimization, so at least I'm not in trouble, lol.
I don't put anything in ArtStation, which isn't a fully done portfolio piece. I only put specific stuff I wan't my potential employers to see and hire me for.
But how do you art without a station?
It's a best porftolio form there is.
Not bad... just misunderstood π
lol
but how do you station without art π€
I have been told people enjoy my bad MS Paint scribbles
like this one
But yeah I'm a coder not an artist although I do enjoy pretending I know how to art
just never got very good at it :D
There is a woman who runs a highly successful tattoo business - she is awful at art, and that's why people go to her. π
My portfolio isn't greatest either. Hopefully I can get at least two of my bigger character projects done this year.
I'm mainly a programmer but I do have some experience in art π
nice
Not bad, from a programmer. :D
I find 3D easier than other forms of art tbh
Same.
Here's my portfolio: https://www.artstation.com/fourtynights
I'll probably delete the last two when more projects come soon.
oh nice π
I never managed to make good looking character models, I mainly did hard surface modeling, that was while I was still unsure if I want to do programming or 3d modelling
Thanks, even though my upcoming projects are improving many things on the anatomy, clothing, hair etc.
Also, I'm adding a whole little environment for one of the projects. To have better lighting.
nice
Yep, every project teaches us to do things better in next ones.
Thanks. (:
Yeah, not the greatest skin texturing and eye shading. Was my first realistic character.
windows has a built in night light mode nowadays btw
don't need f.lux for that anymore
Oh, right. Wait, yeah. :D:D Now I see your nickname in a different light, lol.
No perkele sentÀÀ.
torille
Hi guys I am gathering some data for my Assignment and the Topic I choose was UE4 Marketplace, I would be glad if you can give a min or two to solve this form https://forms.gle/x5xLH1ChfwAAykfj7
Arrays start at 0 in c++ π³
Isn't non-zero based the exception?
starts at 0 because the array's data pointer always points to the first element in the array
So when you do Array[1] it internally does DataPtr + 1 which is accessing the second element since DataPtr already points at the first element
Apparently UE5's Nanite is only for static meshes, raw dyntopo-sculpted characters are out of luck lol
@fresh heath Where are you getting that from?
@jovial quail I don't remember exactly but it was in Epic's official materials somewhere
As far as I remember, Epic didn't rule out skeletal meshes completely, but those won't be supported by Nanite on launch
In this presentation, Nick Penwarden, VP of Engineering, and Marcus Wassmer, Engineering Director, cover the features in Unreal Engine that will be crucial to the success of developing the next generation of games, and reveal innovative features being developed that will revol...
So characters and moving meshes won't be supported soon
kind of disappointing
let's hope lumen delivers, at least one cmon...
it is possible to attach static Nanite meshes to characters though
so you'd have high res equipments π
moving meshes are supported
Deformables are the real problem
A bunch of my animations somehow got imported from Blender to Unreal with the frame rate listed at 1920 fps, wtf
moving meshes are supported
Deformables are the real problem
@mint onyx oh that's cool
Nanite reminds me of MegaTexture for some reason
Remember that one?
Interesting
So they are all downsampled to 30 fps internally?
I think the standard is 30fps and going above that isn't somethings the developers though of so it's not going to benefit you
Nanite reminds me of MegaTexture for some reason
reasonable connection, as Virtual Texturing (Mega Texture) does share some ideas with Virtual Geometry (Nanite) @fresh heath
That kind of texturing is the answer to "how do I skip draw calls?"
There's a lot of static shit that makes their terrain stuff work now which is why you can't deform it in realtime.. so it's not super surprising seeing that going forward with other objects
I wonder how many people in the world are capable of harnessing the power of unreal
ποΈ
Gotta straddle it like a bull
It can get crazy and out of hand sometimes, but only the strong can hold tight
Are we not doing phrasing anymore?
I dunno
Oh I'm gonna start focusing solely on my portfolio and put my game on the back burner for a bit, so pretty excited to get back into just art, also a back up if no studio wants me, I can sell my models on different marketplaces, back up plans π
Are we not doing phrasing anymore?
@light spruce LAAAAAANAAAAA
why doesn't EGS use system locale settings for displaying dates? π€
Sale ends 10/15/2020 at 6:00 PM
because the only thing dumber than putting the day before the month is not using the ISO standard
coz frontend never heard of else, let be happy physics engine is not workin in stones and lb
lmao
I don't get it either lol
Question here, if you got a train game lets say, and it moves and generates random world where just spawn a 1km area around but can move forward indefinitely and where the player can walk outside of the train for some meters, what could be the best solution to solve this ?
World Rebasing is a thing but someone have any idea about what could be the best solution for this ?
you could even move the assets instead of the player :D
sounds like rebasing would be a simple way to go about it though
well as named isn't a solution
as the player can walk around
what you named work for cases ala linear moving things etc lets say Metro Exodus between maps the train is static and the background moves
here I need something ala Raft game
or minecraft, but without store the world
I've not used world rebasing so not sure if it has some limitations but it sounds like a good way to do it
otherwise you'd have to manually move everything around or use some kind of other tricks to teleport the player and the world around from time to time
the problem is on world rebasing the distance keeps don't ?
what do you mean?
if the train moves with rebasing at 5km you will get the 5000 meters
but the world origin moved isn't ?
I would want to get the relative to the world origin
π€
not sure at all how it works I have to check
Oh. That's a good one:
When i was a filthy corpsebreath ππ₯©βοΈ i used to think meat tasted incredible. Turns out the chicken enchilladas and chili con carne only tasted good because of the spices and oils i drowned the meat in. Raw chicken tastes fucking awful, a well-spiced vegetable curry tastes sooooooo much better.
whoops sorry π₯° i meant mmmm baconπ₯π₯π
@zinc matrix read the text again... you didnt see it
the meat is also spiced up .
XD
Can you make chicken sushi
@zinc matrix why do you need to drown your meat to spices? to make them taste better? π€
Well I think then you only need spices
@zinc matrix i do. you don't
@foggy path no, cuz the chicken is called Caroline
@zinc matrix why choose animal agriculture with spices if you can choose plants agriculture with spices with same taste.
that is the main point
Well I thought Minecraft teach that from start you shouldn't eat things without cook them before
is the man with glasses the same one that used to be called vegan no idea what ?
that's like when you got a friend that want to turn you gay each time he can and have the chance
I am not that guy. whoever that is?
fuck
@zinc matrix ok so but seriously now. why do you choose meat over tofu ?
if both taste great with spices
why do you choose killing an animal over killing a plant?
@median wraith help!!
no you don't. duh.
an animal once insulted me when I was a child
and it has caused me so much trauma and stress
every time I see an animal
so now my revenge will be to eat them
I immediately turn them into tacos
then you should eat that animal. its called a human.
What's wrong with you
why would you eat humans are you wrong in the head
cause you eat meat? hello?
humans aren't made of meat
we have skin, bones and muscles and things
how dreadful
that's not meat is it now
that youre not consistent
i thought only dogs are inconsistent
seems like you're too
yeah I need to have some drugs to help with my inconsistency
... πΏ
helps me be more regular in the toilet
Any animal that eats an animal with the same kind of DNA is at risk of many diseases that are not associated with eating an animal of a different species.
@north torrent I am sick :(
They probably still get diseases from it. They just reproduce so fast their deaths from said diseases don't end up mattering.
There are certain brain diseases in humans that come from eating human meat, and I guess if a rat got a brain disease nobody would notice.
you'll never take my bat wing jerky from me
I forgot some reindeer jerky into my old car when I sold it
it was in a really hidden cubby hole
I sometimes wonder if the new owner ever found it... :D
I'm trying to figure out how to vacuum seal juice...
Do you have a vacuum Mr. Zomg?
of course
Do you use it on juice?
I don't think that would work π€
I have some carpets but it's not like american style whole-floor-is-carpet thing
it's still a lot easier to vacuum the floors than having to sweep or something :D
probably just use a cloth to wipe it off :P
no one else is wondering about the presence of a fresh-squeezed seal?
I want a jelly doughnut... but filled with gravy
@foggy path yeah help!!
Not sure, maybe you can somehow choose what material is used with it? Then you should be able to make a material with that behavior I think
fucking owned^
Oh damn did you not get a response from him so you had to tag him?
it's so freaking obvious what you're doing it's not even funny
Ooooh damn
@foggy path why would i make jokes about how to not support killing of animals?
how disgusting is it to make jokes about that?
"hey leets make jokes about people who dont want animals to die for humans"
luuul
π₯
I'm a banana.
I'm allergic to bananas please don't
Then don't touch me.
lol
I bought a miniature subwoofer that I can wear on my wrist...
Don't ask me why, because I don't know.
No.
WHY NOT
Oh now he just completely gave up
not even pretending to be serious about the topic anymore
:D
China is fucking weird, bro
