All I ask, as a responsible but addicted gambler, is that they age rate them appropriately. Any Ultimate Team style slot machine should be 18 rated and continue to have the "in-game purchases" warning
the government are going one step further here and recommending regulation by the UK Gambling Commission, which isn't good news as they are often lacking too. They can take years to catch up on simple things like recently, they banned casinos from allowing a gambler to reverse a withdrawal. Something everyone hated.

There is a positive for anyone who likes their games of chance though. This will force games to have audited random number generation that will have to give exactly what the weighted items list says. No tweaking it because sales are down this week. Removal of psy-ops that instigate a whale cycle or cash cattle situation like online casinos get away with. Or at least, if they do, they are 18+ rated so who cares right? Adult choice is important, as you state, but protection is important too.

this is going to cost a lot of money for the game industry but being that there will be a flood of games that need RNG certification and there are only 4 that the UKCG recommend, there may be an increase in that industry overall. I've seen people who have spent thousands on a single game. But don't have a gambling problem. The market is there for all of this stuff, as evidenced. It just needs appropriate age rating and making sure there isn't any untoward practices that exploit customers with problems.

full save / load systems are quite complex depending on the game and usually very specific to the game itself most of the time

saving out value types is generally not an issue, one type saves/loads just like the rest. the issue is when you get down into non value types or you need to track/restore the values and state on so many objects and systems that it just goes to hell lol

if it's on some web pages, you can open the web console and look thru it for the errors. it should point you to items that are being blocked.
you can also do the same on the web version of Discord to narrow it down

As far as I heard distance fields are a part of how lumen operates, its a mix of techniques to get the best results at different ranges.
GI isnt really a single algorithm either, it is also a combination of techniques to achieve an over arching concept. If you look into how light works in the real world you wont find GI anywhere ๐
It really makes it difficult to compare GIs, just because they use the same technique maybe the implementation makes sacrifices in quality for speed. People tend to just look at the marketing name and think they are all the same same.

As an example if you have an event which always takes place 5 minutes after another event its much easier to use a delegate and timer rather than calculating it in tick. If you need to retrigger, pause, etc it just makes the logic easier to follow than a big tick

I mean I haven't really looked at how you'd do it in C++ if you wanted to use a timer/event, but using a float to track how long it was based on deltaTime in tick is pretty trivial
blueprints make it super easy to do it in a more sensible way with delays and stuff though
so it's pretty easy to take that kind of thinking into BP's even though they have better options

hey guys, I can't find the foliage settings under the foliage menu, I only have mode toolbar and it doesn't let me get a density over 1 which is too low.
How can I increase the density and also is there a way to get the old foliage settings menu back?
I know this is lounge but it seems like the only place with people so sorry
