I can't recommend anyone work with Unity. I like the engine in some ways but their TOS and the way the treat customers is simply atrocious.
learn.unrealengine.com is really turning into a great resource. It's worth going through the classes.

If you ask for a bottle of water, the first person will look at you confused and have to ask two more people, "What is water, do we have that here?" Then after confirming that water is in face H20 and that it comes in bottles, the worker will proceed to go to the person in charge of water and wait for the water person to finish talking to 6 other people who also have questions about water.
Then the worker will have to take said water bottle to his or her manager and get it approved that this is in fact a bottle of water fit for human consumption.
Then you will have to sign 3 different pieces of paper that will have to be taken back to the manager to get signed. But by this time 4 other workers also need things signed from the manager and the worker helping you has to wait 15 minutes to get the manager's signature.
All in all it takes 8 people, 6 signatures, and 45 minutes to get a bottle of water. All while the line behind you is growing and growing and growing.

But because every time you ask one person something he has to go ask someone else and interrupt what he is doing, but he has to confirm it with a third guy, and eventually nobody is sure who even asked the original question so they just don't get the answer.

I also had additional mechanism for puddles there
basically I filled the puddles on rain and left the puddle water there while it dried, removing the puddles slower than the regular ground's wet effect
if you have puddles as separate parameter, you can manually tweak the fill and dry speed for puddles when it rains
when I did that, I felt that was the obvious way to go with it

the crazy thing is it's nearly 5 years of full time dev work, the first three years it was 8+ hours a day. that guy was dedicated to see this game done and he thought he'd have it in a year.
pretty sure that's what kept him going, the thought that it's not that long, but he kept pushing his deadline as he realised the scope of what he was trying to build.
And the whole time his girlfriend was the only one bringing money home, but she saw that he was getting work done and so she supported him through all this time.

The cube only rotates one direction and when nearing the rotation completion, its reset to the default state. So when you go left, the cube ir rotated to the left, then forward and then reset to default

they "plan" on doing remote learning come spring break but half the kids atleast dont have computers or internet to do it

The other issue with remote learning, is that a lot of these kids may not even know how to operate a computer :/ So parents or someone would need to assist them.

my 2 kids here are smart enough and we have the equipment and me to make it work. My youngest has no computer, is in a area with dogshit internet, and his mom cannot help him on this tech stuff yet they expect them to all somehow start doing schoolwork

We homeschool our teenager. It works out better than school for us. We get to teach her useful stuff like English, Maths, Animation, Blender, Unreal, etc :p

its practically automated for us. There is some paperwork to scan and send off but its not much. Then we get assessed once per year by the local council to make sure we are actually doing it. It's been pretty good. Gonna do it for the other kids if we can

What is most interesting is when we let her decide on what to learn as a "personal subject" and she chose animation. She had seen me doing it and picked up a few things. Now she has been doing a pure keyframed animated episode of a cartoon she devised with her little brother. But she hasn't missed any of the other subjects at all. Her English is excellent and her maths is at Trigonometry and Algebra levels.

just found out the city is shut/shutting down here including most non essential services like business licenses and background checks. Compleeeetely screws my work right now as we cant hire new people. Lots of small stuff you take for granted is gone
