@cursive crypt From what I was seeing a couple years ago, actually a few, this stuff already existed and was beta tested to work decently, even without the usual prepwork required by older models (dealing with the gause and whatever thing they attach to the head)
A lot of the hassle in the past was mapping out the human brain since it's folds were different for everyone, but supposedly some software came about that helped with this task, and if you train it (like people trained voice recognition software before advanced AI took that job over) every so often you absolutely can manipulate electronics.
It's very old tech that's come a long way.
And personally i'm fucking hyped for this to take off like VR has, being legally blind, i'd love a VR headset with EEG functionality.
Imagine productivity with game dev and programming by adding thoughts as new types of input.
And the dimension of depth with it is so friggin vast.

It's past niches were for sports usage surprisingly, and mental training exorcises, devices like this were primitive a little while ago but there's been showcases of this stuff in front of live audiences, it's the same pattern.
Honestly it'd be more surprising if it didn't come this far by now.
The one live demo I saw had a lot of depth, it required the user to train it, but you didn't have to spend 5 mins prepping the device.
It looked like a headset, a lot like this one.
Just a few input points is all that's needed.
Instead of just sensing different brainwave types, it also picks up direction, literally mapping the brain into a flat sheet for this.

When making compost for example.
Green, zingy, onion like, usually is nitrate, bland, brown is usually carbon.

I'm not initiated into electronics engineering yet but have been looking up guides, I think a basic actuator with maybe some kind of sensor with some pbc pipes and some cut pieces of plastic might do the trick.
Unless the actuator can be fine tuned positionally, then no need for a sensor.
I'm guessing you'd have a kind of cap inside the pipe which you'd rotate maybe.
But maybe that's not easy to do.

its a terrible weight on my mind all the time tbh. Im pro-capitalism, but in the classic sense and with law, morality and being to the benefit of humankind would be my mantra for it. But thats not realistic.
