Either way, its a waste of time to spend organising for an alpha that is made by one guy as part of a learning process.

The 750ti is still pretty badass for what it is.
The kind of card you can buy for cheap, plug into any existing PC without having to worry about upgrading the PSU, and play anything except the newest games.

I like that Red Dead Redemption 2 tried to make a lot of things that are normally just ignored part of the game.
Like in most other games if you kill a deer you just walk over and pick up your reward, you don't have to skin it.
However skinning a deer is boring and has no sort of gameplay aspect to it. So I feel like Rockstar went half the way there and then fell on their ass.
A large amount of the stuff in Red Dead Redemption 2 just feels like they are trying to make things take longer and give you more busy work, and they forgot to think about "How do I make skinning a deer fun?"
It is one of my favorite games, and I very much enjoy seeing that they tried to incorporate all these other things. But that doesn't mean as a game designer I don't pick it all apart and get frustrated at how much better it could have been if that had thought about FUN...

rule 1: avoid including stuff in headers
having #include X in a file that ends with .h will nuke your compile times
forward declarations exist

rule 2: make sure that you setup your PCH for your game module correctly
(Precompiled header)
also make sure that unity build works fine
if you follow those 2 rules, your compile time per cpp file should be beetween 0.5 seconds and 2 seconds, and then unity build optimizes that more

managed to get reductions of like 40% by culling headers includes
in some specific files, reduction of 90%
just moving includes around
and not even across the entire codebase, i only did that in some typical files such as gameCharacter, gameController, etc
i also did it on my own VR game, and saw similar dramatical improvements
on my own game i decided to use it as testbed of how far you can go, and managed to get sub-2 seconds compile time on the mayority of cpp files

half of your game files will include character, player controller, and Game

I have the opposite problem, I prefer to never ask people for help because I feel stupid and know that the info is out there if I look hard enough. But that can slow me down too
