normally I might have a browser open on my other monitor, so I could use a second desktop for that instead

Epic use UE4 to make Fortnite, and that game isn't going away anytime soon either. Epic keep improving UE4 partly to help them make Fortnite better, but mainly to help developers make better games. There is a reason Epic give out hundreds of thousands of dollars free to game devs.
Every Engine does things slightly differently, some people like Unity, some prefer UE4. Source 2 will be no different.

i want something else because I dont like the way it lays out the samples for arrangement. Im used to old tracker software
its not great for loop based arrangements either. It has nice looping, dont get me wrong, but if you want to store your recording samples as static samples you need to do it in the same file. So I can't export the loops, bring them in, arrange them and still have editing capability. It gets longwinded. It would be nice if it it was seperate but its free and its still awesome

the client side is much worse than server though... you need to allocate 8 GB of RAM for it to even start without crashing
