Forza Horizon 4 actually ran quite well on my old i5 + gtx970, it was slow but it was pretty stable
on current 3900x + rtx2080s it keeps running out of some internal buffers at high speeds, ground textures start to go missing and at some point the game just pauses to load more ๐
internet is full of videos where that happened to people on differernt forza games, it's not just my rig
I'm guessing their rendering framework is designed around the thought that you only ever render 60fps and when you can do 144 at way higher than console settings, things start to break

yeah i went from max 5 to the last one that had no 4K support, then switched to maya, but didn't use that too much. Blender 2.7 was terrible for me, but in 2.8 it just seemed to click. Spent the past couple of weeks learning it and doing this Bender without tutorials now so its all good

I get to around 6 subdivs on a 2k mesh before my computers stops (on average)
bear in mind, I try make topo for games when I can. So its not like I do that all the time, but it was for a render

Been using many, but currently I'm annoying myself with Double Commander. Benefit of it being I cloud sync it across my different machines which involve Win+Lin. Total Commander is quite popular, Salamander too, then there is Opus... Well, there are bunch of them really.
