#Just purchased a 5070ti but my PSU did not come with a 12vhpwr cable. Should I use the 3x8 adapter?

Hey all, proud owner of an ASUS Prime 5070ti. I was super excited to set it up and start gaming, however while hooking everything up, I noticed my PSU does not come with the 12vhpwr cable that everyone recommends. The GPU did come with a 3x8 adapter, but would there be safety concerns with using it?

For the record, my PSU is this one, purchased in 2019: https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/p/psu/cp-9020180-na/rmx-series-rm850x-850-watt-80-plus-gold-certified-fully-modular-psu-cp-9020180-na

As you can see, no 12vhpwr to speak of. If the consensus is do not use the adapter, is there a corsair cable I should purchase that is compatible with that PSU?

Really don't want to risk damaging this brand new GPU, so I'm kinda panicking a bit. Any help would be super appreciated.

That is the expectation for people with older PSUs

Considering the in-field failure rate, you'll probably be fine if the connector was properly inserted

#

Where did you even get that consensus anyway since the new power connector is very well documented at this point

If you still do not want to use that power adapter, Corsair does have their own native cables for this purpose (though I believe it's of the "their own modular plugs to your 12VHPWR" which is also correct)

If in doubt, contact Corsair support, provide the information as requested, and see if they have any such cables or better in stock.
