📢 Hey everyone, I’m facing a serious issue with my Acer Nitro V15 (RTX 4050 + Intel UHD Hybrid Graphics, 165Hz Display), and I need urgent help.

⚠ Issues I’m Facing:
1️⃣ Black Screen After 10-15 Minutes of Gameplay – The display goes completely black, and I can’t hear anything. Only the fans keep running, but the keyboard lights turn off.
2️⃣ Laptop Randomly Shuts Down Instead of Black Screen – Sometimes, instead of just a black screen, my laptop completely powers off while gaming.
3️⃣ Intel UHD Graphics Interfering – Even though I have an RTX 4050, my laptop often defaults to Intel UHD Graphics, causing performance issues.
4️⃣ No G-Sync Option in NVIDIA Control Panel – I have a 165Hz display, but G-Sync settings are missing, possibly due to hybrid graphics.
5️⃣ FPS Boost from NVIDIA, But Then Crashes – When using the RTX 4050, I get 200+ FPS, but then the laptop either blacks out or completely shuts down.
6️⃣ Happening in Multiple Games – Started with Valorant, but now affects other games too.

🛠 Steps I’ve Tried (None Worked)
✅ Forced games to use NVIDIA GPU in NVIDIA Control Panel.
✅ Disabled Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) in Windows Graphics Settings.
✅ Updated both NVIDIA & Intel drivers to the latest versions.
✅ Reinstalled games and reset NVIDIA settings.
✅ Checked BIOS settings, but no direct GPU selection option is available.
✅ Lowered in-game settings & FPS cap to 163 FPS – still crashes.
✅ Tried Safe Mode, but unsure what to do next.

🤔 Questions:
🔹 Why does my laptop black screen & shut down ONLY during games?
🔹 Is this an overheating issue, Intel driver issue, or NVIDIA Optimus problem?
🔹 Should I roll back Intel drivers, tweak power settings, or check thermals?
🔹 Any way to force my RTX 4050 to stay active 100% of the time?

Would really appreciate any advice. Thank

Could you do a 3Dmark run and screenshot the HWINFO sensor page while running a game?

HWINFO has two modes, Summary and Sensors. Normally, when asked, you'll want to use the Sensors-only mode to get the information that may be needed (e.g. temperatures, power usage, clock speeds.)

When opening HWINFO, make sure to tick "Sensors-only" so that it does not open the summary display first. Then click Start.

On some hardware, HWINFO may ask if you want to monitor them or not, as there may be some potential conflicts if they were monitored. Usually these aren't important enough to matter if it's being monitored or not.

Once HWINFO's sensor status window open, look for the relevant sections and screenshot them. If you're unsure, screenshot the entire thing. This window is scrollable, so you'll need to scroll and take multiple screenshots.

If you know what you're doing, these are the items you'll probably need (names may vary; below are samples from Intel CPUs; some items may not exist for your particular system):

  • Core VIDs
  • CPU Package Temperature
  • Core Thermal Throttling
  • Package/Ring Thermal Throttling
  • CPU Package Power
  • PL1 Power Limit (Static)
  • PL2 Power Limit (Static)
  • MOS
  • VR VOUT
  • +12V
  • Vcore
  • CPU Fan
  • Pump Fan
  • GPU Temperature
  • GPU Hot-spot
  • GPU Core Clock
  • GPU Power
  • GPU +12V
  • GPU Fan
  • GPU Performance Limit Reasons
  • Windows Hardware Errors (WHEA)

could you provide the screenshot of the 3dmark run?

#

Suspecting GPU overheating but need to confirm

are these good ?

temperature looks fine, only thing CPU clock speed is a bit wild but that's normal for a laptop

You can try the following:

1.Disable fast startup
2.Disable ASPM/PCIE power management

i will try turning off fast startup and will let u know if it makes anything diffferent

Nothing changes and I am still getting black screen and auto shutdown

I think I have toh change mother board now

Send the device for an RMA

u mean device name and other things ??

No, send the laptop for warranty/replacement/repair
